Knew about the M, did not know about the hiking paths at the top with amazing rock formations. Climb the stairs and explore.
About 290 stairs but the view is worth it. There is also a trail system that goes off to the northwest and there's a lot of cool stuff to check out back there. Definitely one of the better, quicker hikes in the area.
My daughter and I climbed 290 steps to get to the summit. It was a good exercise and the view is incredible. It reminded me of the time when I took both of my kids when they were much younger - about 11 years go. It's good activity for families as well and I would highly recommend it.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
A decent hike to the top. I thought it was going to walking up a hill. Instead they have really well built stairs all the way to the top. Along with benches to rest along the way and some tables at the top. Nice quick climb.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
This was a super cool feature even in the late January winter. A couple and myself hiked up the 266 steps, ever one dedicated to the ones with involvement in it's creation. Super fun little 30 min. up and down. Really good place to bring a lunch! 2 new picnic tables at the top with views!
A unique place to visit! It's quite a few stairs to get to the top but there's a few places to stop with benches and a great view. At the top there are trails, picnic tables and campfire. Worth the climb for the view!
Steps were in good shape and eventually sequenced landings along the journey. Nice hiking trail system on top. Nothing marked but a clearly established trail exists along the ridge top.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Fun place to climb the 285 steps or so to the top and see the view. 3 landings on way up with benches.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
If you are looking for a little exercise in the Platteville, WI area this is the place to come. You can climb to the top of the World’s Largest M on nicely constructed wooden stairs and look out over an amazing view. The view is absolutely spectacular and refreshing after the hike up to the top. Give it a try for yourself!
