Platteville is a town in Grant County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,343 at the 2000 census. The racial makeup of the town was 96.72% White, 0.30% Black or African American, 0.15% Native American, 1.56% Asian, 0.22% from other races, and 1.04% from two or more races. 0.22% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.There were 475 households out of which 34.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.1% were married couples living together, 6.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.4% were non-families. 16.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.81 and the average family size was 3.11.
