Upon checking in, the room was unsatisfactory in regards to cleanliness. Beautiful view though. At 345$ a night the fans in both rooms and living room had lots of dust. Seemed like they hadn’t been clean for months. The accent chair had some stains, similar to a mechanics shirt after a 50hr day at work. The night stands where dirty, had some sort of substance on it, same with the head board, the kitchen also had a white substance on the stove. The floor could have used a good sweeping. We asked the fans to be cleaned and this was before we noticed everything else. Lastly the window seals appeared like a hurricane had just dumped some beach sand inside. This could have been an amazing stay. The view alone is amazing. Needless to say instead of relaxing we had to accommodate the cleaning personnel coming and going as we pointed out issues. I felt like I was telling my 10 year old what was missed In his room cleaning over and over again. Hopefully this site lets me upload pictures. They didn’t have a room with the same view, or similar. They asked if we wanted to downgrade to a regular room, odd because we had upgraded upon arrival. Two room suite is what we got. They must have been swamped with bookings on this particular Thursday that they didn’t have a chance to properly clean on of their most expensive rooms. Today they got me. Felt like daylight robbery. Still have a sour taste in my mouth. Maybe this review will help them become a better option for weary travelers. I hope this site allows me to post pictures.
Great experience. Front desk was consistently friendly and helpful, especially for first time Mexico visitors. Property seems to be managed very well, from housekeeping to other services. Location is directly on a private beach. Concierge can set up certain beach activities on-site. Spa was a terrific experience and value. Pool and jacuzzi area are monitored by security at all times. Safety and privacy are taken very seriously - there is a policy for wristbands to be worn at all times for resort guests. Other guests have noted that the beds are very firm true, and didn’t bother us. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Bathrooms have tile showers and good water pressure. The fridge and microwave were unexpected and certainly helpful. Rooms also have a ceiling fan. Seems tough to beat in this price range. Fully recommended!
We loved the views from this hotel! So beautiful. The resturant right next door is amazing. The hotel check in process was easy and they have on site security. Loved we could see our car from our room. The hot tubs were nice except one was so much cooler than the other one so they need to fix that. Also the beds were rock hard and we woke up sore. The water in shower did not get very hot more like lukewarm then went cool. Liked they had water dispenser in hallway. Also loved the cute decor in room of turtles and sea lion. But overall we enjoyed our stay. Everyone was friendly and its right on the beach.
Hopefully this is not everyone's experience, but we have returned from our stay exhausted. Squeaky bed, thin walls, loud music from the pool below and the adjacent restaurant. One night very loud music played from this restaurant until 1AM. Earplugs helped but were not sufficient to sleep. We were told this restaurant has a different owner and is not at all under the control of Playa Bonita. Other than that, the staff was helpful and attentive. The facility is very clean. The room had a lovely ocean view but nowhere to sit in the room but the desk chair and the bed. There were plastic chairs on the deck I won't stay again as there are other options for almost half the price. For over $200/night I was expecting more.
Great stay! Although my party visited while the resort was making some upgrades the service was fast and friendly. The few annoyance's would have been much more noticeable if we weren't treated so well. We loved the location, the view and restaurant on site. Definitely recommend for the price.Rooms: 3/5
Playa Bonita Hotel has an amazing location. You are steps to the beach. The big downside was the rooms and the incredibly loud music at the restaurant next to the hotel not sure if it is associated with the hotel or not that played until two am three out of the four nights that we were there. They are redoing a large amount of their rooms. Unfortunately we were in one of the old rooms. The stove in our room was attached to the counter with plywood and there were holes in the bathroom where I'm assuming hooks should be. We completely understand that we visited a party beach but the music was so loud in our room with shut windows that when watching a movie we had to turn on subtitles to figure out what was being said. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, however due to the noise we probably would not stay at this hotel again.
The rooms are a little dated. They were clean though. Other guests were really load. I think the walls are thin and needed more insulation. Lost my wrist band New Year's eve. Was charged $20 for replacement. I felt was a little steep but it is what it is. It is closer to town. But the other resorts we went into were more updated and modern. Would recommend to stay a little further for a nicer stay.
Great place to stay. Right on the beach, pools and hot tubs were nice. Rooms were clean and friendly staffRooms: 4/5
Beautiful place! Great room service. Good restaurant next door. All right on the beach.Rooms: 5/5
Professional, knowledgeable staff, perfect location, clean rooms. Hopes of a decent hotel on my first trip to there were fulfilled. Security placed in strategic locations throughout the property to make you and your family feel safe. It was 98% perfect. Only negative I can come up with was not enough other businesses within walking distance. Great place- my kids and I will be going back.
