Went with my son for breakfast. He had biscuits and gravy which he deemed 'OK '. I ordered Eggs Benedict a special that day. Mine was prepared incorrectly so it was taken back to kitchen. Unfortunately it never came back. My son finished his breakfast and as mine never was brought back, I asked them to cancel the order. The waitress apologized and took it off our bill. I was disappointed that no excuse was provided or a person supervising didn't come apologize. Maybe they could have given me a tea for the road or something. I don't get many opportunities to have breakfast with my son so it was unfortunate. We won't be going back but do think that our situation was an exception and not the rule.
Not even worthy of a one star rating! I stopped in today for lunch. I was unaware that the former Player's was now a joint restaurant. The remodeling work wasn't completed. The menu had dramatically changed from my almost twenty years of stopping in for breakfast. My order was delivered and contained the following items: Stone cold hash browns, served in a wedge. They were also completely dry. The toast was also about the same temperature as the hash browns. The omelette left a lot to be desired! I walked out after eating what I could of the omelette. The toast and hash were left behind. I payed my bill and left never to set foot in there again.
On my first and last visit for breakfast, I sat at the bar. Ordered my food and was never asked how the food was or if I needed coffee refill. If I could give zero stars, I would. This was absolutely the worst diner I've been to. Got the country breakfast which consisted of 2 eggs and what tasted like store bought gravy that accompanied the biscuit. Not sure about the sausage. Not sure how this place will fare in the future with much better restaurants nearby.
After a long night of drinking there are few things better then pancakes dripping with butter and syrup and black strong coffee and Players delivers. I would skip their lunches, they aren't bad, just not anything to write home about. The breakfasts on the other hand will leave you happy and full. Don't come to players looking for anything special what they do they do well. Make sure to check out the walls where cartoons of locals and celebrities are on the wall.
Called in my order to pick up my boyfriend arrived there 15 mins later the guy who had answered the phone forgot to put our order in we get our food they didn't have any bags and go home only to notice that not one order but both orders were messed up my boyfriend received 2 pieces of Bacon when he was suppose to receive 4 and he was missing his toast. I ordered eggs on corn beef hash and a side of hasbrowns I received eggs on top of cheese hash browns and no corn beef hash... I call up there to talk to the manager only to have the same guy who answered the phone In the first place try to tell me she's not in and he would take a msg it was only when I persisted to speak to someone, anyone other than him he tells me he will get the manager but then comes back to tell me she's with a guest and he would get my number and she will call me back. At this point my family and I who has loved players for 10 years now am done with this poorly ran restaurant. Let me add that this was an hour ago that I had left a msg to talk to the manager and still not a call. For all she knew my order was so severely messed up we weren't able to eat it now going on an hour after we paid 24$ for this. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME. Make the drive to the neighboring beach for a good breakfast place .. It will be worth it.
Great service from my waitress Rhonda. Love the patty melt and home fries dipped in the homemade ranch dressing. A great breakfast or lunch place if you don't like a lot of noise.
Players Cafe has improved on everything including new menus, the quality of fresh ingredients and everything is made in house . Still have the early bird specials and so much more..Have to come and eat to appreciate all the hard work everyone has put in to bring the famous PLAYERS CAFE back to life...
I did not have my hopes up when I visited this gem of a cafe, so my husband and I were blown away when we were warmly greeted, efficiently served, and well fed. Any complaints found in previous reviews are totally unfounded. We will drfinitely fine here again!!
Great food. Nice selection. Split into two restaurants now with Two Dudes seafood afternoon and evening. Both fun and well served. Very casual. A regular favorite for me.
Breakfast was good. Prepared well. Friendly staff. The whole place needs a paint job and and a freshening up. I noticed some work is currently underway.
