Plaza Theatre

For a small town theater this is a great theater. The staff are nice and friendly, the concessions are fresh, and the popcorn was yummy. The theaters themselves are smaller, which is not a bad thing as less people means less chance of others talking. However the seats are small and not super comfortable and the sound was very very loud. I don't live in Marshalltown so I don't come regularly, but have been a few times visiting family and friends, and always have a good time.

I'm not from Marshalltown, went here on a first date. Theater seems a bit outdated, It was hard to find initially, it's actually on the backside of the building. maybe the sign out front can have a message "open, go around back" lol had an amazing time regardless. Cute cheap date idea. Two of their 3D tickets was only 18 bucks.

Just saw the new Top Gun. Good movie, great theater. Clean, reasonably priced, with a very friendly staff.

Very expensive compared to other theaters. Went to see a movie recently and I'm in crutches due to having surgery. Only 5 people watching the movie and some guy comes in telling me to take my foot in the boot off back of seat. If it had been done with manners instead of sneaking in during movie and harassing us, it wouldn't have been bad. Will not be returning.

Great place ! Staff is nice and friendly . Just a friendly place to be and to a watch movies.

Honestly, best popcorn I’ve ever had. Only reason why it’s not 5 is because we need to upgrade. Where’s the recliner chairs? It’s 2021. Get with the times or you gonna get left in the dust. Coming from a lifetime customer. Upgrade yo inventory

Bought tickets online. Was charged an additional $3 service fee. Showed up and had to wait in line with everybody else who hadn't purchased tickets. What's the point of offering online tickets and charging $3 extra dollars if they're still gonna make us wait in line like we're buying tickets at the box office? Then they announce that people paying with credit cards can buy their tickets at the concession area, so everyone jumped out of line and mobbed the concessions but everyone else paying with cash or had purchased tickets online including paying $3 more than everyone else had to stay in the box office line. We ended up missing the first part of the movie even though we prepaid for tickets, arrived early to get good seats, and made due with the chaos they staff caused at the concessions. I'd rather drive to another theater in another town than risk a repeat of this debacle.
