My daughter attends this school and in my opinion,it is a very tolerant school or all races. The staff are very patient and understanding. My daughter has a medical condition that resulted in many trips to the hospital and they where always there to help. The academics are outstanding, but you only get out of the courses what you put into them. I absolutely love PRP. My daughter attended in school for 3/4th's of 9th grade year then home school rest of 9th grade year and start of 10th due to her medical conditions. If you are a parent who has a special needs child who needs homeschooling, PRP HS is the place to be!
Pleasure Ridge Park PRP is the absolute best school I've been to. Most teachers are very qualified and very helpful. The school offers career pathways like Business & Communication, Medical Sciences, and Engineering, Manufacturing, & Design. It also offers a wide range of electives from Student Council to Performing Arts and Dance. There is so much to offer that you often don't know where to start but the counselors will definitely help with that. Welcome to PRP!
This is a great school. If you're interested in news broadcasting, Videography, Photography, Advertising, Web Development or the arts. This is the school for you. They also have the best sports teams in Jefferson county. Football, Basketball, Bowling, Wrestling, Archery, etc. I'm the Class of 2015 and I'm currently working on migration of the schools website to a modern responsive design.
The kids had a homecoming dance tonight that started at 9pm. This Racist Principal wouldn't Even let Half the Kids inside after10pm. All Children that were Turned Away were Black and Spanish. I asked Her why is she turning kids away She states the doors close at 10 as if this was a club of some sort. There were girls in beautiful dresses crying at the door. You would have thought the Fire Marshall was there. Then she states the rules are in the handbook lol kids read that everyday.
Absolutely TERRIBLE people skills. My wife tried to get our son squared away for the upcoming school year where he will be a freshman. We received a letter stating that he was NOT accepted for whatever reason. So she called the main office and was instructed to bring the letter and application for eschool into the office for help and clarification. Upon arrival she was greeted by the 9th grade counselor who after looking over the paperwork proceed to barade her in front of God and everybody in the office about why she even bothered enrolling our son. It was so bad that she left and I came home from work early to clear things up. Upon OUR arrival to the office we were greeted by the registration clerk who was more than helpful after defending the counselors actions. Sure enough the counselor walked out, looked right at my wife then me and continued around the corner without a word. Had I known who he was I would've stopped him and cleared the air. Instead he tucked tail and ran and the rest of the staff were only there to defend him. My mom taught me from an early age, treat people how you want to be treated. I guess it's common practice by this staff to talk down, demean, and embarrass parents who just don't know the process. I hope they get their issues figured out and get an actual QUALIFIED counselor in that position for their sake.
I wish the state would invest more money into this school & other Public schools in Jefferson County for that matter. Hopefully they find a great football coach to replace Coach Hiser. Its time they start competing for the State title again!
I attended the school back in the early sixties. It was not pleasurable. Being a Jew I was persecuted and there were some students who wished me dead. I think there was a Black student. I could not forget the pep rallies supporting a pure white team of unknowns who played against Louisville athletes who were Black. Among the jocks of Louisville at the time were Cassius Clay and Wesley Unseld. I had such a bad time that I got sent to a Jewish shrink who would not let me talk and yelled orders that I was to take mellarill. I have since taken, legally, drugs from the pot and opium family and found mellarill to be the worst drug. My job takes me into the Carolinas and Virginia and those places are nice compared to PRP as I remember it. Maybe PRP is ok now.
The two gym teachers are extremely FAT and overweight and bring in fast food EVERY SINGLE DAY and they don’t teach us nothing about physical education and when we try to actually get up and EXERCISE they make us sit down so we can be fat like them
Amazing school. The teachers are amazing at their job and I always feel protected while at school.
