Paid sum $500 for instant locs that came pretty much 70% loose or completely out. Went in for a touch-up a week after the initial appointment, Ejah didn’t touch most of my head and kind of rushed me out. At this point, every interaction is pretty respectful. My hair wouldn’t stop coming out, I decided to give it a shot calling them and trying to figure something out. I have never been talked down to, disrespected and felt attacked in such a way in my life. Both stylists present at my initial appointment laughed in my face, with Ejah attempting to gaslight me into believing I was instructed not to wash my hair for 3 weeks she told me with instant locs, i didn’t have to wait, though i did wait 10 days while Makeda met everything I had to say with something fresh, sat down and called me a liar to my face, before calling me “a kid who can’t follow directions” before sitting down in the massage chair and going to sleep. The conversation concluded with Ejah either gaslighting me, or genuinely being ignorant enough to tell me my hair looked exactly how it should and it was where it needed to be. It looked like a nest. I came here because I saw plenty positive reviews, but 3 months later i’m still bothered by the treatment I received, and $500 later, I feel completely duped. P.S. I’ve since gone to a stylist that recrocheted all of my locs and washed it immediately after. Let me be clear: you don’t need to wait to wash instant locs, and if the stylist says you do, they don’t know how to do them properly.Service: Dreadlocks
This was my sons first time getting braids and they made him feel very comfortable. They were fantastic to deal with, and the vibe of the place was dope. They did an unbelievable job on his braids and most importantly he was happy with the process. They were great, and this is the only place we will be going too. THEY ARE AMAZING!Service: Braids
There’s no other place that I would recommend getting your hair done at except Plumbhunneez! From the customer service all the way to the quality of the work they do. I’ve known my good sis Keeda since high school and from then I knew her hands were gifted. I trust no one but her to do my hair. You want good QUALITY service? You want a salon that’s going to make you feel real good once you step out? You want someone who’s fair and will treat you like family? Plumbhunneez is the place for you!!
I walked in feeling ok and walked out feeling like a million bucks! I had passion twists done to my hair by Makeeda and let me tell you - I simply felt like an African Goddess when I was done! It was my first time getting my hair done here and I will 100% be back for more designs. The customer service and cleanliness and friendliness of the stylists was simply amazing!! Definitely recommend.
I’ve been getting my locs done at Plumbhunneez for about 9 years I’ve always had a good experience the staff are professional, family’s oriented as my son gets his hair done here as well. They work with all hair types and are educated in what they do, highly recommended I will continue to go here.
I booked an appointment on 1/17/23 for a wash and retwist for 1/25/23 at 1130am. I took the entire day off from work just so there wouldn't be any interruptions . I was sent a text message at 320pm that day confirming my appointment with Essence. I was EXCITED because I usually do my own locs and a trusted friend referred me to them, so I decided to take a chance. I'm traveling on 2/1/23 and wanted my hair to look good. I get a text this morning 1/23/23 at 1125am to confirm my appointment for Wednesday, so I did. And it said I was confirmed. Later on at 358pm I received a text stating that my appointment was canceled. No call from anyone. It's Monday afternoon, my appointment is supposed to be Wednesday. I called to find out what happened. I was told that the stylist, Essence, double booked and that nothing was available until 2 weeks from now. The person stated that I should have received a call from the stylist but I didn't. It's quite unfortunate that the time I decide to give a salon a chance and this happens less than 48 hours before my appointment. Very disappointing. An appointment 2 weeks out is unacceptable. I hope I'm the only person this has ever happened to at this establish ent.
Been going here for over 2 years now and I highly recommend this shop! Always on point with the styles I want, I always get what I pay for no matter the price! Helped my hair grow longer than it’s ever been! The products they use are top notch and they treat you like family! I love these 3 ladies Services: Shampoo & conditioning
The review is solely based off of the aftermath of what my hair currently looks like after visiting this salon. First and foremost the people were great and friendly. My friend recommended this place to me for a silk press service. I am a Latina with curly hair and sometimes it can be difficult to find a salon to tackle the job. My first visit was in the beginning of November and I loved my hair so much I visited a second time in December for the same service. We are now going into February and my lower section of my hair lost its curls. I was very devastated because my hair has always bounced back from a blow out, straighter, curling iron, etc. but for some reason this wasn’t the case. My curls are straight and stringy and it’s very unfortunate. I emailed the business to express my concerns and at first I thought they were going to guide me in the right direction but they seemed to dismiss my situation. My advice would be to educate your clients on what you do best right? Talk about the possibilities of what this service could do to your hair. On the website under silk press it notes “hair will revert back to its natural state” but that wasn’t the case for me. I am now looking forward to a big chop so I can regain my curl pattern.
I went there for my first time to get starter locs. I went there it was clean people there a extremely friendly and respectful. The told me a lot of great information on locs and how to maintain them. The people there really know what there doing, extremely knowledgeable in there craft.
Very professional and clean environment,plumbhunneez was recommended to me almost 3 years ago and since I walked through their door I’ve never returned to another hairstylist. Everything you need plus more!! 5 stars for sure.
