Pharmacy
Open more than 50 years with the last 37 years under the ownership of Matthew Piskadlo.
While it was originally half the size when the store first opened, by the time Piskadlo purchased the business, it was its current size allowing for additional shelves to offer cards, gifts, and over-the-counter medications.
Changes in the business over the 30 years is how it has been taken over by insurance companies, with them setting the prices. The growth of chain operations has also been a factor.
Piskadlo said the key to keeping customers is service.
With lots of repeat customers, many have been coming to the pharmacy since Piskadlo bought it. Even when some patrons move they continue to get their prescriptions from the store.
Piskadlo's business philosophy is simple. He tries to be fair and then the customers will always come back.
