We used PODS when moving from Raleigh, NC to Edwardsville, IL. Though PODS is one of the priciest ways to move, it's certainly the most convenient when moving across the country. They dropped the pods off at our house in Raleigh, where we had several days to pack them up at our own leisure. They even recommended movers for us, which we took them up on, as they were experts in packing pods. The movers did a great job! It was nice having access to the pods even after the movers were done because we found lots of little last minute things we decided to put in the pod as well. The pods were then picked up and held in storage until we called and ask for them to be delivered to our home in Edwardsville. We had a slight issue getting the pod delivered, as we didn't realize it would take a while to get it delivered once we called. We were under the impression we would call and it would be there within the week, though they were quoting closer to 18 days. The customer service rep put us on a cancellation list, and luckily, we did get the pod delivered in about 11 days, so a week earlier than scheduled. The pod arrived safe and sound with no damage to any of our things. Though I never want nor plan to move across the country again, PODS will be my first choice if we ever do. They made a stressful situation just a little easier. Just a side note: If you are having the pods delivered on your concrete drive way, they make some pretty bad dark black marks that will only come up with a good power washer.
This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We had a pod scheduled for delivery tomorrow. They called and said their driver is sick and they would not be able to deliver the pod. Here’s the good part. They said the next closest delivery date was 13 days later. We are scheduled to move into our new house and have nothing to put inside of it. When I call customer service there is no way to change the delivery date any earlier. This is unacceptable. They are just scheduling dates that are convenient for them and have no concern for the customer. Do NOT use this company
PODS is refusing to pick up my empty container and trying to charge an extra month's rent. I was scheduled for pick-up on 6/8 and they never showed up. Now that want to leave it in my driveway until 6/18 because they claim to be completely booked through mid-July. They act like they are doing me a favor only leaving it there for 10 more days. Customer service refuses to let me speak to a supervisor or anybody local. And, they keep trying to get me to call back later versus handling the problem.
We used PODS for our most recent move. The POD was delivered fine, but none of the 30 blankets we requested were included. It took 3 days for PODS to figure out that this location was in fact out of blankets, and that none would in fact be delivered. They did issue a refund for the blankets but we lost 3 packing days waiting around for communication.
