Description

Pohick Bay is a water oriented park located on the Potomac River 25 miles south of the nation's capital. Our boat launch facility is one of only 3 public access points to the Potomac River in northern Virginia and the closest to Washington DC and its famous waterfront. Pohick Bay offers canoes, kayaks, paddle boats and jon boats for rent on the weekends as well as naturalist guided canoe & kayak tours.

In addition to water activities the park also offers family and group camping, hiking, picnic areas and a large play area for children. Pohick Bay is also home of Pirate's Cove Waterpark which provides water fun for the entire family.

Pohick Bay Regional Park, located on Mason Neck Pennisula is an ecologically fragile land that shelters an abundance of wildlife, including the bald eagle. Nature lovers can expect to see blue birds, osprey, heron, deer, beavers and rare sightings of river otters.

Quiet place along the River. If you fish, the boat ramps are easy to access and there’s lots of parking. The picnic area has a nice playground near it and there’s plenty of shade. Local residents enter for free.
This is an ideal spot for all kinds of groups, regardless of age. The surroundings are beautifully maintained with plenty of shade, and the bathrooms are consistently tidy. There's a fantastic water park for swimming and playing around, as well as playgrounds and planned activities. Additionally, you can enjoy golfing, mini-golf, and cornhole. If you're looking to explore the river and bay, boat rentals are available. There are also trails for hiking and mountain biking. The camp store is outstanding, and it provides a convenient camping experience that is nothing short of heavenly.
Great park with well maintained grounds. The comfort stations are top of the line with laundry machines and sink to clean the dishes. Store has all the camping essentials. Wish they had an empty butane gas cylinders recycling here. Restrooms: Brand new comfort stations are amazing.
Typical launch pad for boats and jetskis. Docks are a bit loaded with bird poop and some boards need to be replaced soon. Most of the funds have to be going to the park itself and the other attractions inside. The boat ramp is getting full of algae and weeds, which need to be cleaned up soon. The staff is very nice. There is plenty of parking for boats. The rate for boat launch is cheap, so it's definitely worth going to if you are local. Restrooms: Clean restrooms Dog-friendliness: As long as ypu pick up trash park is dog friendly. Picnic area: Lots of nice and well-kept picnic areas.
Wonderful campground with lots of amenities! I was very impressed that they had nightly activities for kids the weekend we were there- bingo, movie night, crafts, etc. The water park was awesome and reasonably priced. They had very nice and clean bath houses. The mini golf course could use some sprucing up, but was fine for our littles. Playground: Swings, a slide and a climbing tower Restrooms: Very clean Dog-friendliness: Yes
Great fishing and wonderful park to enjoy nature! I saw a couple disc golf targets and nice trails that I want to experience, but this trip was about fishing.
Fantastic park and awesome campground! The facilities were immaculate and super well maintained. Def will return!
One of my favourite places in NoVA, they have a great boat launch as well as other amenities like paddle boarding, Frisbee golf, grills and picnic tables and overall a great place to go enjoy the outdoors. - insta @ SpicyAivy
Safe, Cozy, restrooms really clean, they have shower rooms, even laundry spots.
Nice even in December. Large sites with fire ring and picnic table full hook up. Clean warm bathhouse and laundry too. Close to attractions but nicely wooded. There is a water park and boat ramp for warmer weather.
