We had just a wonderful time at the beach here. It was clean and not too busy when we went. Lots of trails for biking or walking through dunes, forests, swamps and of course the beach. There's a beautiful lighthouse to gaze upon. There were lots of people camping, though not sure what the daily cost is. Daily park use was 8 dollars. Overall the place looked beautiful and will certainly visit again! Dog-friendliness: There was a dog friendly beach and walking trail.
Great beach. Nice sand, and you can walk along the shoreline for miles. Bit cold this time of year, but walking with the sound of waves is therapeutic. I just wish the restrooms were open. Bring your own water also as all the wster fountains are off also.
The recreational trail has been very well maintained. If you are cycling though, I implore you to watch your speed for the safety of yourself and others.
Wonderful forest with a variety of trails and places to explore. Bring bug spray if you aren't going to be on the rawley trail.
Watch out for the poison ivy in the campground. The beach is great, and goes on forever. The US Coast Guard owns the lighthouse and nearby property; no trespassing. However, you can contact the USCG and rent the keepers domicile.
This is the one part that my family and I go to every year because it has the warmest water that I have found. The water is only hip deep for quite a ways out and I was a treat not to freeze and still get the experience of Lake Michigan waves. On the beach there is plenty to do with thousands of beautiful rocks seashells and bird feathers 2 keep young and old busy. **WARNING the sand is very hot.** on sunny days its just like walking on hot black top.
Beautiful beach....one of the best beaches that we've visited in WI. The only downside is limited parking. Beach was clean, water is clear and soft sand...also, very dog friendly.
Very pretty beach with sunset and sunrise views. We love camping here and coming for beach days! There are great bathroom and shower options for camping and there are sites with electric. The campsites are wooded and very nice! There are awesome bike trails as well!
Didn't get to check out the Ice Age, but initial impression was weak on trails, high on bugs lots of standing water naturally in swales, and campsites are tightly packed. Maybe 3 sites along the main road would be worth the drive only private sites. Beach is beautiful, and the main building is quite nice with food, supplies, and gifts. Lighthouse was best feature, but as private, off limits to visitors.
Beautiful. Love the ice cream in the park and the beach is so clean and fun. The sites are so large and wooded.
