Established in 2012... Giving old pieces new life!
Hi, there! I'm Megan Mullins, wife and mother of a sweet little boy. While I work full time and (try) to keep up the house, my "get away" hobby is painting old furniture and crafting. I love giving old furniture new life and discovering what I can create. Furniture is a new found passion of mine (well, since 2012!) because it's amazing how an old, ugly piece can be rejuvenated and look brand new again with different character.
All my work is done by hand. Yes, even the painting! I use a sander for all projects and a paintbrush. (I do not have a paint gun nor do I intend on purchasing one!) I love spending the time manually "fixing up" my project pieces. Painting, distressing and antiquing are my favorite techniques but I have also done custom work to meet a client's needs.
A brief reason behind the new name of my page... Originally, my business page was called The Clever Clover but I wanted a name that had purpose. I have pondered over several possibilities but it wasn't until recently that it hit me... Polished Imperfections. The purpose of the name? I like to give old furniture new life. There's someone else I know that has done this with us as humans... Jesus Christ. The Bible says in Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." The way I see it... we can "polish" ourselves all we want on the outside, but on the inside we are "imperfect." Just as furniture may look "polished" on the outside, there are still imperfections under the paint and stain. The Bible also says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 "therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come." We have the choice to die to ourselves and be renewed in Christ.
