Nice place and nice area, conveniently located close to shopping, pharmacies, restaurants, gas stations and to the airport. Had some minor problems with ants, power and there is some road noise but other than that it was a great experience overall.
Great Campground! The Lady at the check in was very friendly. Everything is nice and clean! The Bathrooms/Shower house is brand new renovated and spotless clean. You hear the traffic at night but it's not to bad. We would come back. Thank you
We traveled in a 43 foot motorhome and only stayed for a few days. Though we were able to get in, spaces are very tight. Not big rig friendly. Fortunately the 2 spaces on our left were unoccupied. It would have been impossible to park nor even exit our space.
My parents have lived here for 4 years and so far it’s been great for them!! We visit from Indiana and my boys enjoy going. Bathrooms and showers are clean. Pool is always clean as well and my boys love it! Everyone is kind! Office ladies are sweet and kind as well. Location is nice as well.
Another great stay at the Ponderosa. The staff are so helpful and professional. We have stayed there several times for short visits. The bath house is sparkling clean. The sites are wide enough for your rig and at least one car if not two. We get plenty of tv stations just by using our antenna. Yes there is road noise but we just turn on our fan at night to sleep. The location is convenient to so many things including the little bakery/take out right down the street. We will be back!
Very laid back and everyone actually waves back when you waive to them . Nice view of the sky at night as well. Customer service is great and amenities are as they should be. Great rv park to visit! My 5yr old son liked it as well
We stayed 1 month from early March through early April 2022. Staff and residents were all very polite and friendly. Laundry room and bathrooms were well maintained / clean. I suggest to bring your quarters bc change machine didn't work when I tried it. I do wish the office would e-mail a reservation confirmation but, they don't. We had no problems checking in and no extra charge checking out 30 min late due to a dead battery. It is a pretty small campground. It has quite a few seniors who ride their 3 wheel bikes around and also a mix of younger seasonal and permanent residents. I visited the pool a couple of times in late afternoon and it was not crowded at that time. There were some families and kids but not a lot in the park. We felt quite safe there which is very important. Much Safer I think than staying at Walmart in Orlando or Kissimmee like one guest recommended for a 1 night stay due to noise from the turnpike. I guess the campground is about 75% t o 85% permanent or 6 month seasonal rentals. Quite a few nice looking small RV size homes with a porch or sunroom. Some new and some older. I'm guessing they have approx 20 short term rental spots. I did see 1 tent trailer which was nice bc that is how I camped as a kid. Most of the nightly, weekly or monthly sites are on the side next to the fL turnpike which is maybe 50 to 75 yards away. It is pretty loud but electricity is included in a monthly or shorter rental and if we shut the windows and ran the fan only or AC it masked a lot of the noise at night. During the day when we were not trying to sleep the noise was noticeable but much less bothersome and we were away a lot of days. The turnpike traffic doesn't reduce much until 2 or 3 AM and picks up about 7AM. I started looking about 2 months before our early March arrival. It was hard to find any spot even near the end of "peak season" near St Cloud or Kissimmee. I think the county and state park weekends are fully booked many months in advance. Many Orlando/Kissimmee/St Cloud Campgrounds are almost fully occupied by 6 and 12 month guest. Some said to call back 2 weeks before I was arriving to see if they had any spot because they had no idea when their long term guests might leave. I wasn't about to wait until 2 wks from arrival to try to reserve a spot. Another nice "RV Resort" told me they did spots for "Transient" guest and might have opening if I check back later so, I asked how many "Transient" spots they had and the answer was 2 spots. Being 98% booked by full time guest they are really a waste of my time trying to find a "Transient" spot when they have no idea when guest plans to leave. I'm thankful the Ponderosa RV park does maintain quite a few sites for the RV community looking for something between 1 day and 6 months with decent pricing for stays less than 6 months. And will take reservations instead of waiting for someone to leave. It may not be convenient to ride a bike to stores but, I had a car and had no problem with the distance to most places I was going in Orlando or St Cloud. Places like Lowes or Home Depot were probably 10 to 15 min away by car and we could drive almost anywhere in Orlando in 35 min or less with tolls or 45 min without tolls excluding rush hour delays I did see some close by overnight RV camping I think maybe without Elect, water or sewer at the Osceola Heritage park just 3 min away on Bill Beck Blvd, I didn't research it yet but, I'll consider that spot if I need an overnight or very short term stay. They might have Elect but I'm not sure. But, if I need a longer stay, I'll probably be back at Ponderosa. Many other parks had no idea when they might have an opening. Also, one other park told me if they did have a transient site available, it would be at the daily $60 or more rate and they didn't discount for a wk or month stay like Ponderosa does. So, I challenge you to find a better RV park in this area for a week or month stay that can be reserved 2 months in advance during peak season. I couldn't find one. Good luck!
Beautiful place with nice people and staff. Plenty of places to live along with a bath house, laundry mat, and pool.
A great RV park. The staff are very accommodating, the lots are big and have picnic tables at most, and the amenities are clean and well kept. Has a swimming pool. Close to all the action, about 25 min from downtown Disney and the theme parks. There is some road noise outside from the highway, though it is muted by the trees and cannot be heard inside. Well worth the stay.
Spent a couple of days at the Ponderosa RV Park this past weekend. Loved it! Took the grandkids to the pool, which was awesome and they liked the small playground area. We did not have time to play shuffleboard or basketball. Our RV was right beside a pond. The view outside our windows was trees and water. Nice! The pond is fenced and home to some local animal life. The first night we arrived, three billy goats came by and let us pet the through the fence. A couple of turtles stopped by to see what's up.
