I’m Teresa and dogs are my world! I have have spent a lot of time socializing and learning about dog behavior, needs, training and personalities.
I look forward to helping with your furry ball of joy in any way possible, please ask me for info.
To me, dogs are pure love in the best possible form and there is nothing I enjoy more than playing with my pups and our guests.
I think you’ll love the fact that I’m an experience dog owner, foster parent, and volunteer and know how hard it is to be away from your furry friend! Leaving your pup in the care of another person is always difficult, so I try to keep our stay as fun, safe, and happy as possible! I am always sure to take a lot of photos, keeping you updated with what we’re up to during a stay. For me when a pup is in my care they become part of my pack and as such, they get loved and treated just like my furbabies. I give treats, play with toys, go for walks and cuddle with every pooch that comes through my door.
Currently, I also have four doggies of my own! Mika is a three year old Chow, Vixen is a one year old Chow and my boys, EJ and Houdini are seven year old Shih Tzus. Vixen and Mika love being outside and playing with furry friends and would be happy to share their space and toys with your dog! The boys, EJ and Houdini, are a little older and usually like to relax. But all my babies love to go on walks and explore dog parks nearby! I also have experience fostering dogs, specifically a couple of Chow rescues for two years. That was the best experience of my life and allowed me to connect with dogs from different backgrounds. Many of the dogs that came into my home were from the streets or backyard breeders. They had never been on leash, had never been in a house, and had zero training. It was so joyful and rewarding to help these pups learn to be great pets, setting them up for their forever home!
In addition to both owning and fostering dogs, I also volunteered at a local shelter when I lived in Georgia. I worked closely with a trainer to learn many techniques that came in handy when dealing with my foster dogs. Beyond my professional and volunteer experience, I have been a dog sitter for years. I have cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities and have the most experience with Chows, Rottweilers, Shih Tzus, and German Shepherds, but I honestly believe that with love and proper training, every breed and every dog can be a perfect pet! One of the things that makes me a great pup sitter is my belief that with love, patience, and consistency, any issue a dog might have can be worked through. I worked through issues with my own pups and they now are well-socialized!
I live in a beautiful home in the Expo Park neighborhood with my father. Though I’ll be the primary caregiver to your pets, my dad will be around for snuggles and potty breaks. He loves animals and also can’t wait to meet your furry friends. Our home is cozy and comfortable and very welcoming. I have a gate that is open most of the time, but can separate the kitchen and living room, that way when we do go out, the pups have plenty of space. Our backyard is fairly big and have a 6’ fence, great for taller doggies. In the summer, we have a small pool set up for the dogs, which is a perfect spot for those hot days. One of the best parts of our neighborhood is that we’re less than a block away from a wonderful park, perfect for walks and playtime as well as only 15 minutes from three dog parks, that I often take my own pups to!
When I’m not spending time with pups, I like to crochet blankets that I then donate to rescue centers or shelters. I also love to read and listen to music! I also spend a great deal of time researching anything that I think I may want to try or that will benefit my pups. I believe in my soul that I am meant to work with animals, especially dogs, for a living. There is nothing in the world that makes me happier.
