The Poore Family Foundation was formed by J.C. Kenneth Poore in 1979, so that his family's homestead would serve as a historical and educational site illustrating a way of life that existed prior to rural electrification.
The Foundation endeavors to: continue and propagate the traditional spirit, values, way of life and philosophy of living of the settlers of the headwaters of the Upper Connecticut River Valley.
