A very good experience. We came here on the recommendation of a friend and it is a gem in the rough. Remove your predisposition about restaurants attached to gas stations as this is nothing like that sketchy fair. Think comfort food where everything is smothered in gravy and serving sizes are more than generous. I tried the fried chicken livers and they were well cooked and very crispy. The mashed potatoes and gravy were very good but the mac and cheese was runny and kind of lackluster. Our waitress was very kind and attentive throughout the meal. Cost was a touch higher than the average but I think that the portion sizes make up for the difference soo I will not deduct any points on this front.
Downhome cooking with a smile! Pop's always serves great hot food, and you might have to wait a bit, but it's certainly worth it. Staff are friendly, and they appreciate our service men and women.Food: 5/5
AMAZING! There isn't a whole lot of real food in Kingsport, BUT this place is so good! I love the catfish plate and the corn nuggets I haven't had corn nuggets since I moved here from Florida hands down the best! Great and caring staff! I would give them 10 stars if I could!
Pop's Restaurant has great food. It was packed when we went Friday night around 6:00 but the wait was not too long. It is hard to go wrong and you will not leave hungry!Recommended dishesOnion Rings, Country Fried Steak Pork Tenderloin and Eggs and French Toast, Chicken Livers, Catfish
Talk about a hole in the wall! But solid country cooking and good service makes it a great option for something better than fastfood and quicker than many sit down restaurants.Food: 5/5
Great food, friendly staff, friends and family gathering spot. Love people watching - perfect place for it. You can tell who the regulars are by the way the staff interacts with them. Some day I'll be that level.Food: 5/5

This was our second Friday visit in a row here due to some very poor service at another small restaurant we'd usually go to for Friday Fish Fry. Unlike the other place, the service here was great and the fish was better as well. This will be our Friday go to spot from now on.
