Best experience in the Poquoson Post Office today. I haven't been by in multiple years pre-Pandemic and finally tried it again today after seeing lots of recent positive reviews. The new clerk is great! I can see myself coming back and being happy about it now. While I admit that I really wish that there was a self-serve kiosk, I am grateful that my experience today was positive.
I have been going to this post office for years. Some of the rudest most unhelpful people you would find anywhere. Today I encountered a member of management who was rude, nasty, unhelpful, and threatening. Now I see where it comes from. He is black a dude about 40. No name tag. I was trying to find out why my shipping label was not in the system when eBay said it should be. He was having none of it. Practically threatening to kick be out with his threatening demonstrative manner. I've gone into this post office before right after a rate hike and the person behind the counter would be totally unaware of it. Another time a clerk was giving me rate information and telling me that the price of media mail was dependant on which zone it was shipped too. Wrong, a complete lack of knowledge about the basics of their job. In fact, this manager was unaware of a shipping agreement the post service has with eBay. So I see where the lack of being informed about your job and the rudness comes from. All of the bad reviews are well deserved.
I live in York county but prefer to go to the Poquoson Post Office. The postal workers are friendly, helpful, and just great folk. I think the patrons at this post office are even friendlier than at most other places. Perhaps it's the small town culture.
The driver either stole my package or put the package in the wrong box. package shows delivered but my family did not get it in their parcel box! I’ve been trying to reach this post office all day and the phone just rings and rings. Each time it rings for approx. 3 minutes and then they disconnect! They never answer! I’m in another state or else I would be there in person raising trouble! We pay for your jobs people! Shame on you!!! Horrible post office!!!
In the past, there was one particular employee who was the rudest I’ve seen, who I haven’t seen there for a while now. All of my recent experiences have been excellent and the people behind the counter have been exemplary.
This is the worst post office location I have ever been to. I am unsure of how a collection of the worst postal employees could be in one location. The entire staff should be fired and then the location should be restaffed. They are rude and unprofessional, not to mention the service they provide atrocious. I hate that this is the only post office in town-this has been a long standing known issue- I really wish someone would do something about it.
It’s the holiday season and shipping is always busy, that doesn’t account for the amount of mismatched signs on their doors. They need to update the signs to show how many people are not only allowed into the clerks office at a time but ALSO the lobby! I had two older gentleman try to step in front of me while I had already been waiting patiently in line and then they tried to correct my boyfriend who had carried our package to be mailed inside for me. Only for these two men to continue to check the doors, make remarks, and discuss the amount of people authorized in the location...the signs say four people but the clerk said three. Get your signs updated so folks don’t have to listen to ornery old people!!!
I've always gotten great service when using the Poquoson Post office, we've been living here for 3 years now. The attitude of the staff has always been positive and the wait times for service is always short. Keep up the good work!
I have lived in Poquoson for 10 yrs and I can said the staff is consistently rude so I go to the Hampton post office when I am able to. Courtesy is very innexpensive, more so when the customer is respectful, a lesson not well appreciate it by the staff at the Poquoson post office.
Lately I've been treated kindly at this post office. I didn't change post office as it was not mine to change so I had no choice but lately they have been very kind. One mail clerk, wish I caught her name, had given me a roll of receipt that we needed, it was as if she was waiting to hand it over to me. Very kind lady and glad that I haven't seen the one who was very rude to me anymore...I wish them all well and hope they're doing good.
