I have an elderly mother and I am a college student. I was unaware of the the shut off today and so was she. She paid a partial amount last month and they still shut it off today. They have never not been lenient on a bill but they choose to do the opposite during a pandemic. They still stack on charges either way and they always get their money. What gives??? The majority of the population in Port Arthur are hardworking, low income based or poverty level families. Please fix this injustice city of Port Arthur.
I think that it is really lousy that when the water is going to be "off all day" we get no notification from the city. We are a small neighborhood the city could have let somebody know the water is going to be off tomorrow!!! What are mother's supposed to do she need water, what about the elderly? If you let us know a day ahead least we can prepare!!! That's just a sorry way to run a city.
This comment is in reference to the 'water company'! Is your budget so inadequate that you can not, at minimum, have some employees answer the telephone? I know this is a small town but good customer service should be your goal. Why have a voicemail if you dont return calls? 7-14-19...Now I'm adding a second complaint. If you pay your water bill through their pay by phone number Paymentus, your payment will not be reflected on the actual date paid. I paid on 6/15/19. My payment was due on 6/17/19. The payment went through my checking on 6/17/19. The water company charged me a penalty of $8.40 and claimed that my payment was late. Their records reflect 6/19/19 as date paid. This means they are erroneously charging customers late/penalty fees. 7/17/19... Brian Wallace, an employee of the Water Department, called me back and explained that my payment was actually due on 6/13/19. I had actually not received the June's bill. He was professional and knowledgeable. I appreciate getting a call back. I especially appreciate getting a call from a knowledgeable person. I am changing my rating from 1 to 5 star. Alert: the due date can change every month.
I need to report a problem. Pretty sad the number on Port Arthur Utilities city website is not working. Shows you the quality of workers and workmanship they don't have. Just incredible.
Number not available really? . I miss one month on my bill because of covid and they desconected my water without a warning i have kids at home.. heartless ah.

Horrible , the clerk at the window was super rude... honestly never want to go back again.
