Port Austin is a village in Huron County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 664 at the 2010 census. The village is within Port Austin Township.Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.04sqmi, of which 1.03sqmi is land and 0.01sqmi is water. It is located at the tip of the Thumb of Michigan. Port Austin is home to the beautiful rock formation Turnip Rock, found to the northeast of town on Point Aux Barques.
