Port Ewen BOCES

The teachers and staff at BOCES Special Education Program are wonderful! The school is wonderful with kids with special needs. I would not want my child to go anywhere else.

I'm a graduate student from New Paltz class of 2018 took automotive, loved the class learned so much.

This place is a literal jail for their students. The principal thinks it’s fun to make their students cry and hyperventilate on the floor as they get in their faces, the vice principle thinks he his a tough guy telling their students not to come back. Do not send your children here if you want them to be disrespected for being dropped off by their parents.

As the business owner of a welding and machine shop, I enrolled in the BOCES welding class along with one of my employees. My goal was to see first hand, how the class was run- and how well we progressed thru it. My hopes were to be able to send my employees there for training. I was extremely disappointed. On many occasions the machines were broken or had missing parts, and we would go home as soon as we arrived. There were many times where we drove to class to find out there was no welding gas for the machines. I then started calling the instructor ahead of time to be sure there were welding machines running and ready to use instead of wasting time and gas- just to be turned away. I found this all to be extremely unprofessional. I contacted the person in charge several times , and there seemed to be little to nothing done about the problems- I even went further up the ladder to explain the situation - and still, no call back. There was no excuse for the director not to call me back and address the issue. Very unprofessional on all levels. In the end, for my experience , it was a waste of money $4000 for 2 students and more importantly my time, 45-60 minute drive 1 way. I made my employee continue to the end of the semester- I stopped going out of frustration and lack of progress. My larger concern was the unprofessional manner at which this school operated. With the amount of money I spent- and what students pay - To have machines not working, vital consumables necessary to run a class not available, and supervisors and directors that fail to respond to calls and concerns,.... they should be embarrased. I had a voice, but many others do not say anything.. If you would like to validate my experience, call me- I am very reachable . ** If the school is reading this, I'd certainly like part of my money back **

I start here in 2013. In middle school. In early 2019 i got kick out because this kid in my class name Cody Brewster was be a bully to me and anybody my in class. I am sorry. Ms.welch i am sorry i have done to you. I am sorry this was my best school i have want to. I wish i have second chance. I have changed my behaviour. By James kosofsky.

I'm still at Anna Devin Elementary School, but halfway through ninth grade. I might go to Port Ewen and see my friends there.

i went here back in high school and the classes here are amazing, the teachers are very professional and kind and know what there doing i recommend it for anybody looking for a new trade it may be a bit pricey but its worth every penny. some classes even help you build a resume

had over 50 open parking spots yet wouldn't let a single kind park there and now I'm forced to walk a half mile to school and a half mile back home

Most staff are professional. There’s a lot of bullying and the staff doesn’t do anything to fix it. I went to that school for 4yrs. I’d give it negative 1 star but they don’t have that option.

It was great..and today is last day of it. But, I'll come back next year
