Port Jervis Whitewater Park- Gateway to Adventure
The City of Port Jervis White Water Park would be a municipal park located in the Delaware River next to Riverside Park. It would be a series of features that create “whitewater” with pools and rapids, also on the banks of the park would be natural rock terracing, pathways, and informational kiosks.
The park would span approximately a half mile of river on the Port Jervis side .The main uses of the park would be kayaking, surfing, rafting, boogie boarding, swimming, fishing, canoeing, sunbathing, running, nature watching, etc.
We are a diverse group of local business owners, citizens, and kayaking enthusiasts that are working to bring a world class white water park to the City of Port Jervis as well as to improve the economics and quality of life in Port Jervis and the Tri-state area.
The Whitewater Park is a project that that has been chosen by our city council to spearhead the riverfront revitalization project. The whitewater project is unique in that it will bring commerce through attracting tourists/boaters into our city limits with projections of increasing commerce by 1.5 to 2.5 million dollars annually.
This project is an incredible opportunity for Port Jervis with a positive environmental impact and we are persuing avenues towards financing that will not affect our taxpayers.
There is a lot of work that needs to be done to make this project come to fruition and we appreciate all the support!
To bring a white water park to the City of Port Jervis and the entire region!
