Portage Historical Society at The Museum At The Portage
"Fascinating collection of photographs, artifacts and displays highlighting the history of Portage and her people. Located in the historic former home of Zona Gale, the first woman to win a Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1921, the Museum preserves her study just as it was when she wrote many of her lasting works."

This is a neat museum that focuses on the local history of Portage, WI. Judy, the docent, is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. She made the experience just that much more meaningful and memorable. It was a great way to spend an afternoon topped off with a walk around the block to see the other original houses in the area.
Great Great grandson loves this museum. We have been there dozens of times for past few years. Always good for children to enjoy history.
Great museum! Fun learning about the actual portage that gave the city it’s name.
Wonderful Museum and fantastic service. Curator was so helpful and so welcoming. Was able to do some genealogical research and enjoy all the exhibits.
