The best entrepreneurial stories begin with a personal moment of inspiration. For me, it was a desire to turn my passion into a business. I have been building things out of wood since I was a child. Countless hours with my father in his basement shop taught me how to turn an idea in my head into something beautiful and unique. In 2012, I decided I would build all of the furniture for my new home. This turned into making furniture for friends and family, and finally into what we now call Porter Furniture.
