Easy to get in and out and great opportunities for through-window photography throughput much of the approach and take off
Portsmouth International Airport takes place as my alma mater and home turf for aviation photography! I can’t truly express enough the love I behold for coming here to shoot the many different aircraft landing and taking off from one of the longest runways in America. Especially the very common KC-46 that are almost always active during my visits. As well, this airport provides amateur photographers with a chance to embark in the adventure of sight seeing many military aircraft deemed to be almost impossible to spot sometimes! Or even the occasional soon to be retired “Queen of the Skies” 747 operated by Atlas Air. If you are ever in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire or even just want to make the journey and visit this airport, I can assure you won’t regret the decision.
I grew up outside of Pease back in it's SAC days of the 70-80's. It totally hooked me into aviation and I still spend a lot of time here now shooting the local 157th ARW which now flies the KC-46A Pegasus and the transient aircraft that use KPSM as a stop over or the summer lobster runs. Great spots to take photos as well, Grill 28 is the restaurant at the golf course and has excellent food!

Great place for the airshow. Good parking and easy to access Next Show is 2023, don't miss it
What a great airport! It's hard to believe that it used to be a major USAF SAC base with nuclear weapons along with many kinds of bombers and fighters. The 17,000 foot military-built runway is amazing to takeoff and land from. Commercial jets only use about half it's length! Don't be surprised if you see a massive military C5 transport or various types of refueling jets. The military still maintains a refeueling wing at Pease. There's currently just one gate at this terminal. As a result, it's amazingly fast from drop-off through security and to the gate. Supposedly, two more gates will be added by 2019 to service more Allegiant destinations. When I flew Allegiant mid 2017, it was on a brand new Airbus A320. The seats did not recline, but they were still comfortable for me. The service and flight were excellent.
Massive area and wide variety of aircraft. Friendly people and lot's of things to purchase fun for the whole family and budds. Cheers
Portsmouth International Airport at Pease is a small passenger airport with one gate and a customs office, handling several flight per week. Media reports have mentioned plans for expansion. As you can see from the photos the terminal could be a-bit-more spacious.
Small airport, easy to get around, and plenty of parking. If this airport offers a flight to your destination I would definitely recommend it.
This airport is small but friendly and efficient. It is composed of basically one terminal so very little guesswork in where to go. Military flights come through for refueling regularly and you may see the patriotic welcoming group that greets the military passengers religiously.
