The Portuguese Bakery, baking "The Best Sweet Bread This Side of Portugal!" Besides our original Sweet Bread we also make Cinnamon Sweet Bread, which is to die for, Biscoitos in various flavors and other delicious baked goods.

The portuguese bakery is currently located in Santa Clara, CA, on the corner of El Camino Real and Scott Blvd. Located in the shopping center formerly known as the Mervyn's Plaza. We are located in the very back of the Plaza. We ship our delicious pastries all around the world.

Awesome service. And very friendly staff — I think family owned. Highly recommended. We got the malasadas — great! And even picked up a few sausages. Can’t wait to try them.
Malasadas were great. We tried custard and Coconut Cream. Was looking for the Leonard’s Bakery taste on this one - not as great but pretty close. Must try in bay area. It is served only on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Call the place to check availability. Owners were from Portgual themselves and they were super nice. The portuguese sweet bread was also great we were offered a free sample.
Sweet! They do sweet bread loaves will slice for free. Great for breakfast or making French toast and a full pastry case of the classic Portuguese pastries with or w/o crusts for gluten free. Free coffee with bread and pastries from the friendly owners. I will def be coming back to buy from their grocery shelves of Portuguese specialties. :-
Neat small bakery with yummy treats. Super friendly and helpful lady at the counter. One of those local places that need our business to keep them open. So much better than a chain bakery. Highly recommended.
Very lovely bakery! It is family-owned and everything is baked fresh everyday. I called in advance to order the egg tarts. This is my first time getting Portuguese pastries and the owner gave me a great introduction! She also gave me a piece of their traditional sweet bread and a cup of coffee! The egg tarts came without crust and have a light lemon fragrance. They are perfect as afternoon treat! The cinnamon sweet bread is soft and tasty and the lemon biscoitosPortuguese traditional cookies to dip with milk is a must try! They also serve Malasada Portuguese donuts with a variety of filling on Wednesday and Sunday. Highly recommend this bakery : Street parking available in front of the bakery.
This is the best place to purchase cinnamon bread. I drive out of my way to pick up the bread that is made fresh daily. The owners provide free coffee during your visit. Their pastries are excellent as well. Anything Portuguese can be found here. Try any of their sandwiches, you won't regret it. They also have a deli section of fresh meats. The place is very small so they only have outside seating. Parking is street parking but there is always room near the store. My go to Portuguese bakery.
Desert her are wonderfully hand made and not to sweet. Really authentic and delicious. I had the custard filled doughnuts but its more like a pastry and the custard cup. Need to come back and try the roll cake. Great prices and a free small coffee and awesome humans working here who love it!
Awesome spot for traditional Portuguese fare. Specialize in various sweet breads and other breads. Came here on a Saturday and learned they have fresh Malasadas and Filhoses cooked every Wednesday and Sunday morning. They also had great smaller rolls typical size for Portugal and great for smaller sandwiches, dinner rolls etc. Had other Portuguese imports too. Definitely coming back
Portuguese bakeries are used to be very common for Santa Clara, city with lot of Portuguese descendants. Not so much anymore sadly. Portuguese Tasty Deserts are not new in Santa Clara. They only come back. Unfortunately, selection is limited during work days when I visited. No malassadas except on Saturday. I had sweet bread and while it was ok it was not fresh. Not baked that day. I will give it one more chance some Saturday. They will have them this Friday, on Catolic Xmas Eve.
Teresa welcomes you with a smile, a tasty treat and hot coffee.All that before you even ordered anything. Must try : the egg tart, all the cookies and rice pudding. Lots of gf desserts. Very TASTY desserts indeed.
