I love this little office, and trust me it is tiny. It serves a wide county with many spaced out people so their PO boxes are in high demand and the price reflects that.
As far as I can tell this post office has extremely limited resources and people are rather unsympathetic. I worked as a shipping manager for a period of time, dealt with more postal stuff than most people will in their life and I really can not complain about this location. The staff is exactly like any other post office, and usually you'll find they warm up if you show just an ounce of civility. So far no issues with mail delivery and while it was annoying to find them closed at a time it is indicated they should be open, limited staffing is understandable. I'll take a less efficient post office for getting to live out where I don't have to listen to other peoples noise constantly. If people want metropolitan service they should probably move
The employees here have always been friendly and courteous. Which is more than I can say for some of the customers. The major problem with this post office is that it is physically way too small. No wonder packages get misplaced. To “rag” on the employees here is misplaced. I intend to call/write the postmaster and really do something. And no, I have never worked for the postal service.
I have been using this post office for the last 7 months. Not sure if any of the employees are new, and in training, but there seems to be an issue with getting mail. There have been several occasions where I have not received my mail or someone else’s mail has been placed in my box. I have even mailed items that did not get postmarked the day I mailed it. Hoping that things will improve.
Staff always polite and formal, even friendly when pressure permits, never angry. Always trying to help and they pick up the phone during busiest times you may have to try a couple times. Never power tripping like they used to? do in Anza. In 10 years not one package lost! By my experience the best P.O. so far, anywhere.
A very small post office in the "outback" . With a bit fantasy you will believe you are in a different time zone and in the next few minutes the stagecoach will stop by. ;- But there are very helpful. Had the last days a very friendly black man and a Lady who have been helping me with any question and that in the very busy Christmas time and a smile for everybody.
Don’t expect to get your pkgs or mail for that matter the day it’s delivered. It’s the old attitude of “when I get around to it!”. If your pkg is delivered after even 9am, I was told today it wouldn’t be processed until next business day. Crazy excuse, but suppose I can live w/that. My pkg was delivered Fri morning & it STILL wasn’t processed or clerk simply couldn’t find it by Mon afternoon. I was also told by the clerk there today that he doesn’t care what people think of the service here, that “everybody just needs to be patient!”. Lmao...nice customer service there! Just horrible tracking & overall organization @ this location...you’ll see what I mean...pkgs are ALL OVER the PLACE inside this clerks workspace...& not a care in the world! No system in place for organizing mail, or especially pkgs. Go somewhere else if u can, that’s what this guy running the place would rather u do anyway!
My issue is with them around the holiday time. Specifically Christmas Eve. No where does it say they close early one Christmas Eve regular is they close at 5pm AMD are closed holidays. I recieved a Christmas packadge from a family member whose daughter, and my best friend, had just passed away. I tried to go pick it up at 1:20pm today Christmas Eve, Monday. And the lady was locking the door. I showed her the slip that the mail courier dropped off AFTER it would have been possible to pick it up on the prior Saturday not trying to run anyone's holiday by going out on Christmas Eve, but this is special and I couldn't get it when it should have been made available she looked at me and said, "Been closed since noon" and continued locking the door. I tried asking and said it was for Christmas. She just said no. I SHOULD have said the hours posted said open till five, do your job and give me my package. Really irked that she didnt give good customer service because I'm in customer service and her actions we aplorable.
Why do the Aguanga post office workers seem so unhappy ? Especially that African American man. The guy has never looked me in the eye or even cracked a smile. I feel like he just wants me to go away. They all seem to be very lifeless and robotic. I hope management reads this. They are usually the problem. Also, sometimes I don't get mail and they lost a package, that was never found. This is a small town. A little friendly goes a long way.
There are just 2 people in a small building. Too many packages are lost for too many people - including us. Each time I go in, someone is waiting for them to find something they can't find. There needs to be more help here and someone needs to organize it so that the two workers can find packages.
