I've lived here over 25 years, and worked right next door to the Hayesville Post Office- granted we are a small town with a great community and values- in this stressful world it is still nice to see that there are helpful and friendly people out there. John tries very hard to be helpful and always goes over the costs with me, and Postal workers are always busy and under stress. So for the holidays give Thanks for these hard working people who only try to make your Holidays a little brighter.
So much for southern hospitality...I go to the post office to pick up 2 packages. Im second in line and wait patiently for MY turn. When its MY turn.. I explain to the young girl what I need. She goes to look for my packages and comes back in a few seconds to tell me there is only one package. She went to go look again. I start looking on my phone to track the package and a RUDE employee short greyish hair and frameless glasses says "so you think your phone is going to tell you something different?" I said no, but I can check to see if it was delivered. At that point a customer walked in and MR RUDE said "well maybe you can go check somewhere else so we can help her." Now...keep in mind, I waited for MY TURN, The rude employee had no involvement in my transaction, HE was doing nothing but weighing a package with no customer and he was available to help the new customer while the girl was still looking for my other package, and this all happened in LESS THAN A MINUTE! The new customer was waiting her turn just as I did with NO issues. I dont know who this person working there is...but I will find out...I know he thinks hes got a protected job at the post office and maybe he does...but if he continues to speak to me that way, he will wish he worked somewhere else. I work at a business in town and when I shared this story, everyone here knew exactly who he was and was familiar with his mouthy attitude. UNACCEPTABLE. I was informed the employees name is John. I guess John has a reputation in town for being difficult.
Allows people to ship packages but then refuses to deliver them, you have to go pick them up yourself. Shuts down minimum 2 days a week.
Bent fragile artwork into a taco shape and shoved into my mailbox. Wouldn’t drive up my driveway and walk 10 feet to deliver my Amazon packages either. Really not impressed with postal services here.
Constantly have a problem with this post office and it's drivers. I've received many a broken item only to be told I can't make a complaint because of one reason or another like "you must have the box so it can be inspected". Well - now we have cameras installed and have caught the mail person literally dropping or throwing packages right in the middle of our driveway, which we have to stop and move before we can park. Many items have also been one of a kind or antique items which are irreplaceable or non-refundable. We plan on getting a PO box at another post office in NC to hopefully fix this issue. If things don't improve will be complaining to the state and federal levels of USPS. Unacceptable, unprofessional and lazy.
They refuse to deliver packages to the house. It isn't far at all from the mailbox. They hold all packages for no reason and make me use precious money for gas and time. We actually pay their salary and this poor service needs to stop!!
Worst customer service I have every received. Got a man on the phone by the name of John. I wanted to verify an address and he started telling me about the privacy act and he couldn't give out an address or box number. I tried to explain I didn't want an address but to verify. He asked if I'd ever heard of the privacy act. Man had a bad attitude. Seems to be the norm for postal clerks. He told the postmaster I wanted an address which was incorrect. He didn't even try to listen. She was a bit better but made an excuse for her employee. "He had a lot of people in line" Doesn't matter. Really rotten customer service.
get almost everything in the mail now days what's not ups or FedEx. Comes from hayesville post office. our mail person goes out of there way to make sure we get packages and mail that doesn't fit in the box . everyone at the office is always kind and helpful . you couldn't ask for a better system then there able to give you in a small town that's lacking the man power or resources to give better service. it's always 110% with everything they do . thank you for your hard work and kind words .
I don't know what these reviews are based on but these are the best postal staff I've ever dealt with and I have lived in many states. Even though I'm now settled, I keep my p.o. box; it is like a village gathering place and very friendly. And they will GIVE you help that even covers putting their tape on a loose parcel, advice on sending options n cost n lots more, like helping you with taking home a pile of held mail by loaning you a carrier. I love these folks Hattie of Hayesville.
had a lazy delivery driver who kept not bringing packages but kept leaving notes saying "no one home" or "undeliverable" in our mailbox and marking the time for like 7am. made complaint after complaint only to be finally told they don't deliver to doors where the mailbox is half a mile away from the door.
