This post office is just as bad as the one in Temple City, if not worse! I needed to send 2 packages with Registered Mail overseas, with one heading to the UK, and the other for Chile. The postal worker wouldn't allow me to take an image of my own package that I was sending out so I can let my friends know what they should look like upon receiving it! Not just the postal worker wouldn't allow me to take an image of my own packages that I was sending out, she sent it under the wrong class of mail, which was the reason why she didn't print a customs label as I requested! I asked for my items to be sent as a package, not as a large envelope where I wasn't made sure that it was insured if it was lost! The package I sent to the UK arrived safely, however the package I sent to Chile hadn't had any updates for 2 weeks, so that is when I filed an international claim, which was made more difficult as the package wasn't insured! About a couple days after I sent in my claim, I finally got a tracking update where it had been delivered! Get your act together and stop being lazy when a customer makes a request! This post office should just fire most of their workers and hire new people that ACTUALLY do their job and provide good service!
While I understand in today's world why the doors are locked after hours, it makes no sense that the mail drops behind are padlocked shut - the slot isn't big enough to worry also when the curve as a letter is dropped in.
Staff is very friendly, their service is fast. It could be hard sometimes to find parking space in front of it.
Clerk 13 was very unprofessional it's an Asian guy I clearly told him where I was mailing my documents and I asked for a proper envelope to use he first pointed at some paper envelope later he decides to read the address of where I first mentioned where I needed to send my documents and later tells me I need to use a different envelope that is priority because the first envelope would cause delays. So after I paid for the first envelope I had to okay for a second one because he's too dumb to understand where I told him the first time where I needed to send it in the first place so made me spend twice as much money.
I had a small bubble mailer that was not rigid and bendable and the clerk still wanted to charge me 5.25 and he said it was a package, only way that can be sent. So I went to the Duarte PO with the same "package" and the clerk charged me 1.26 saying it is flexable. I will not be going to the Monrovia PO any longer. They don't know what they are doing.
Why oh why cannot this Post Office put a hold on my mail when I personally hand a manager the hold request card? It happens over and over again. I do not want mail delivered while I am out of town. How much clearer can I make this?
I don’t often leave reviews, but this was exceptional. Clean, fast, efficient, friendly. Thanks!
The reviewer that said this location has a small-town feel was right! They work so hard and try to get you in and out quickly. Even when there's a line of 5+ people, it never feels too long of a wait. The workers are friendly, kind, and frank, and I enjoy coming in to my local post office. They have taken precautions in the retail lobby due to the pandemic masks, marks on the floor to space out the line, tables in front of the counters to give more room to the employees, sheets of plastic hanging in front of the counter, etc., but their kind and personable service seems to have only increased. Even with the increase of mail and packages, I feel like my mail is delivered even more regularly than before. So I appreciate that! Thank you for working so hard, USPS!
My commercial rents were stolen from the drive in box at the Monrovia post office and one checked was fraudulently cashed in for $4200 It completely messed up my three businesses and I’ve had to spend one week 10 hours a day shutting down three commercial accounts Filed a report with the Monrovia post office and they seemed not to care they said mail will be stolen anyway and there’s nothing they can do!! Put some f….. cameras outside!!
The negative reviews here are the result of a lack of perspective. Maybe these folks have never had to use a post office anywhere else in Los Angeles. The employees here have always been patient and polite to me even though I have a box and come almost every day to receive parcels, some of them heavy. I moved here from the Woodland Hills/Tarzana area where walking in and getting either no line happens all the time in Monrovia! or just a few people in line would be unheard of at ANY time of ANY day. I love my new post office!!
