The primary goal of Emergency Management is to prevent injuries, save lives, and reduce property damage in our communities.
Emergency Management is an integrated effort, involving local, state, and federal government agencies as well as volunteer organizations and businesses. These various entities assist citizens and their communities to prepare for, respond to, recover from, and eliminate or reduce the effects of natural, civil, and technological emergencies and disasters. The primary goal of emergency management is to prevent injuries, save lives, and reduce property damage in our communities.
To serve the public by:
(1) ORGANIZATIONAL
creating and enhancing partnerships with local jurisdictions, the private
sector, non-profit organizations, and citizens;
(2) PREPAREDNESS/MITIGATION
developing emergency plans, facilitating training, and conducting emergency
and disaster exercises;
(3) RESPONSE
coordinating emergency and disaster operations; and
(4) RECOVERY
facilitating community recovery operations and programs following the impact
of natural or man-made disasters.
