I wish I could put negative stars. I had a wedding registry at Pottery Barn. I went to the store to exchange I gift I got from my registry for another item in my registry. I was told I could not do that because the gift had been bought online. I would get a merchandise credit via email/mail. The salesperson was rude and even discriminatory. I said I had a discount to complete my registry and she said they did not do that. I told her it was posted on my registry that I had that discount. She did not believe me, and I had to show her on my phone. At any rate, I left my gift at the store and was told I would get the merchandise credit via email. I never got it. I called customer service 3 times. They said they would cancel said sent credit and give me a new one. I never received one. I called again and said I was about to file a complaint at BBB. Then then transferred me to a "manager" who said that the gift card/credit had been mailed to my friend who bought the gift. And I should get the gift card from her. I was embarrassed to do so, but I did. I got the card from my friend. When I went to the store to get items, the gift card was "declined". It had no credit on it. This experience has been extremely aggravating. How hard is it for a store that offers "wedding registry" to do a simple exchange or give credit for merchandise physically returned to a store? Unbelievable.
Great store, usually very busy and crowded but always great finds to be had. I think this location is also a flagship and they have a lot of floor samples.
Had a shockingly poor experience with this Pottery Barn. I was coming into to view/buy a specific Desk that I had seen online, and that was verified to be in-stock at this location. When I conveyed that to one of the staff members, she first told me that they did not have any in-stock. Another staff member then verified that they indeed actually had 3 in-stock. After about a 10 minute wait, the first staff member then came back to me and said that [referring to the stock room] “they’re up there somewhere, but I can’t find them” and offered no resolution. After driving about 30 minutes from the city to this store specifically, didn’t love this lackluster response. Not a great customer experience.
As a first-time homeowner, it was pretty amazing and unexpected to get a free at-home consultation with an interior decor expert through Pottery Barn. We took the offer and worked with Joey. He was prompt, friendly, and obviously passionate about interior decor. He guided us through multiple options for our living room — we were looking for a couch and matching rug. He took into account our taste and opinions, and was very candid when answering our questions. My partner and I highly recommend working with Joey at Pottery Barn!
Good selection. Helpful sales staff. No pressure. Good-looking store. Free fabric swatches.
Very nice styles, diverse furniture and decor
One of my favorite shops in Burlingame, but honestly, the staff seems kind of judgy until you let them know you want to spend money and that you're a Key Rewards member.
One of the most beautiful carpets, curtains and the softness pillows. Elegance and style. Feeling like home at Christmas. The decorations on Christmas trees are unique and unforgettable. Many are made of stylized inhabitants of the ocean. The staff is kind and professionally. Of course, everything can be ordered online, and replaced if you do not like. Hot recommendation is to personally talk and consult with the ladies in the shop.
Terrible experience, go to CB2 or Crate&Barrel instead! Lots of staff wandering around the store but no one taking on the registers even if there are queues. Also odd pricing structures and terrible at honoring promotional price. Awful.
We've had excellent service from staff in the store when purchasing home goods. They are all helpful and knowledgeable, but the store gets busy and you often have to wait a while to get help. Although we still do buy furniture here, some items are disappointing due to low quality. Pottery Barn used to be high quality, but now, sadly everything is made in China and the quality has suffered. The color rubbed off our leather in less than a year and not in a good " developing a patina" way. The cushions are sagging. The frame wobbles. They need to find a better balance of quality and value....lately it's hit or miss.
