Wow, what a surprise. Stopped at this tiny towns museums and it turned out to be huge. Main building and then about 5 outbuildings. Room to park RV/Toad. 1 blockoff hwy. The people were so nice to me. The woman at the counter and her two daughters were there. Her 20 year old daughter showed me around the entire place for 90 minutes. Lucky me. They have everything from old pioneer kitchen setups, wooden washing machines, a old schoolhouse set up, old cars and tractors, wagons, a room full of period dresses etc.
Stopped off here some time ago to break up a long journey - and we were so glad we did. Wonderful eclectic collection, covering many different subjects. The couple running the place on the day, were very friendly and lovely to talk to.
Wonderful regional museum on the Warrior Highway with many exhibits, including 19th century firearms, Indian weapons and cowboy articles like spurs. An older gentleman whose great uncle founded Broadus gave me a tour. Interesting exhibit of the Battle of Powder River, which was fought near town, including the buckle of Private Lorenzo Ayers, who was wounded and abandoned on the battlefield to die. Could have easily have spent several hours here and will be back when I have more time.
Wonderful museum. Man by the name of Bob Tolcott gave us volumes of information. He has lived in the area his entire life, I think. What will happen to allow the wonderful western museums when the old guard is gone? I would visit here again.
The displays were great. So many different things to see. Had a personal tour. Made sure we didn’t miss anything. I was impressed with the knowledge of everyone there. Saw some things that I never knew existed. Great tour. Must see if you’re in the area
Nice collection. Many items of local and regional interest. It may sound strange, but if seashells are your thing you need to make the trip. A local man left the museum a cataloged collection that is really impressive.
Great place to learn more about how people lived in the vast territory of Montana and Wyoming. Something for everyone. Guns, dolls, western stuff, taxidermy, and much more.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
This place blew my mind away!! So many things are here. Honestly, I'm not really into history, and I was still extremely engaged. The amount of history here was just amazing. So many things of interest. Just go to it!!! They only ask for a donation!
Extensive history of Broadus. My family homesteaded here in the early 1900s and they have so much history of it. Bob was so knowledgeable about so much! It is amazing.
there years ago 2 older gentlemen working there. what a great time they gave so much information. Hope to go back
