Power Shot Hockey Academy is the premier hockey performance training facility in Metro Detroit for Professional, Collegiate, Junior, and Amateur hockey players. Mike Donnelly and Craig Channel, two former professional hockey players with over 40 years combined experience with the NHL, have developed the Power Shot Hockey Academy which provides strength, conditioning, and skill development training for hockey players of all ages and skill levels. Through the Power Shot Hockey Academy, players will participate in 'Hockey Specific' drills and exercises designed to develop a more fundamentally sound player.
Mike Donnelly, a 10 year NHL veteran, NCAA All-American, and member of the Michigan State 1986 National Championship team, has a passion for helping young hockey players improve their game and reach their full potential. Currently, Mike is a professional scout for the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings.
Craig Channel, an 8 year professional hockey player, has worked as a professional scout for four NHL Organizations since retiring from professional hockey. Craig has scouted professionally for the Washington Capitals, Nashville Predators, St. Louis Blues, and currently for the Minnesota Wild. Through his experiences as a player and scout, Craig is able to provide his players with a wealth of invaluable knowledge and insight into their development as a player.
Additionally, the Mike Donnelly Power Shot Hockey Academy has acquired Piet Van Zant (Detroit Red Wings), Russ Bauman (Detroit Red Wings), and Jeremy Goodman (AHL-Hartford Wolf Pack,) to assist with the strength, conditioning, and nutrition training for their players.
