Prabhupada's Palace of Gold

About

See the beauty and mystique of the Far East revealed without leaving America. Now you can enjoy an exciting royal afternoon at the Palace of Gold, "North America's only genuine palace".

Description

Overlooking the Appalachian hills and valleys, Prabhupada's Palace of Gold is reminiscent of an Indian kingdom.

Enjoy leisurely walks through our award winning gardens or sit by the lotus pond and enjoy a smoothie.

Inside, see sunlight colors through thirty-one stained glass windows reflected in crystal chandeliers and mirrored ceilings. Walk upon intricate marble floors and inlaid walls. Fifty-two varieties of marble and onyx imported from Europe, Asia and Africa.

In the Grand Hall hangs a giant French chandelier over 150 years old. Murals depicting ancient Indian classics are painted on the ceiling in the tradition of Renaissance masters. Walls and pillars are accented with semi-precious stones and pure gold. Under the thirty-ton main dome is a 4200 piece crystal ceiling.

Four royal peacock windows display more than 1,500 pieces of hand-crafted stained glass. Peacock and lotus motifs pervade the Palace, etched into numerous windows and carved into doors. Peacocks are traditionally associated with Royalty and Lord Krishna, who wears a peacock feather in His hair.

Prabhupada's Palace of Gold is worth the trip to WV, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

This was an amazing experience in a beautiful location! The community was kind and helpful. They answered all the questions we had about their practices, beliefs, and facilities. We were invited to have a free lunch, and it was fabulous! We have also tried the little cafe and cafeteria there. Possibly one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Rich history to say the least. Definitely advise stopping in and seeing this once in a lifetime destination.
This was truly a great experience and I recommend that everyone else should go to the gold palace of West Virginia, we completely loved it. Such beautiful countryside and animals the people who live here are amazing wonderful folks that truly brighten our world and helps take away some of the bad evilness we have now..you can rent a cabin on a room and I promise you will be glad you did. Couple wanting romantic getaway or family vacation of 12 to 20 people can have such a great time here. I highly recommend the tour of the gold palace and BONO WAS OUR GUIDE AND HIS KNOWLEDGE IS OUT OF THIS WORLD,HE WILL EDUCATE YOU ON LOTS OF HISTORY. I WANT TO GO BACK TO VISIT AGAIN...LOVED THIS PLACE AND THE PEOPLE..WEST VIRGINIA ALMOST HEAVEN IS TRULY WEST VIRGINIA WV....
Nothing else like this in West Virginia. Way out, and way high in the mountains. Worth it for a unique experience. We went on the day of the Festival of Colors; so, it was extra busy and crowded. But, still spacious, and inviting.
The temple itself is beautiful, but people are not at all great. It is a misleading experience for people who are interested in the Hindu religion. The priest, without even knowing, asked me to donate $1100. The $16 for temple are not worth spending on their awesome buffet food and visiting small temple where there is idol of Krishna
We stayed at the lake side cabin and it was a pretty good experience. The special attractions were the peacocks and the kids loved them! They serve breakfast and lunch for free! They have a dosa counter and a restaurant to serve dinner! If you are planning to stay overnight, make sure to fill up your tank before you hit the mountain! You wont find any other restaurants, gas stations nearby once you reach the top of the mountain!

The visit began with a delicious breakfast served as prasad, followed by a tour of the temple complex. The temple was a marvel of Indian architecture. The atmosphere inside the temple was serene and soothing, with devotional songs filling the air. Outside the temple, peacocks danced around, adding a touch of grace and beauty to the scene. The temple was located in the midst of a mountain range, surrounded by greenery and fresh air. There was also a vegetarian restaurant nearby for those who wanted more options. The temple visit was a refreshing and spiritual experience, immersing oneself in the nature and culture of India.
Free entry into premises, check around the garden, property, but not to the Swamijis seat or core sanctum. If you wish to get a tour of Swamijis belongings then it's gonna be charged at $12 for adults and $7 for kids. Tour timings are run batch wise, timings are displayed at the front desk, I don't recommend the tour. You can then reach iskcon Temple located at the foothill beside a lake.
