Staying Alive!
With Fun,Prompt,Reliable, and Affordable CPR, AED, and First Aid training in Northern Utah.
I am a retired veteran from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of active duty service. During my tenure, I served as a combat medic, with a background in trauma care and emergency medicine. I have deployed down-range in the war zones of the Middle East multiple times, and have treated thousands of wounded military members suffering from blast injuries, shrapnel wounds, burns, and amputations, among other things. With every patient that I treated, I learned more about the human body and how it reacts to injuries, as well as what is needed to help my patients make a full recovery. While my heart will always remain with my fellow military medics, I realize it’s time for me to move on in my life and try something new.
I have been a CPR Instructor, certified through the American Heart Association, for 15 years. For my last 3 years of active duty service, I directed the CPR program on Hill Air Force Base (AFB), UT, and was responsible for the training of 15,000 active duty and civilian personnel in CPR and choking relief maneuvers. In addition, I am a trusted U.S. Air Force medical advisor, having headed up the Self-Aid & Buddy Care (SABC) program at two different stateside bases, totaling 6 years. SABC is a medical first aid program that focuses on combat survival skills. I have taken many of the ideas and lessons taught in this course and geared it towards my Wilderness Care course that I teach with Premier Medical Response. I am also a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician, and have held my certification for over 20 years. While stationed at Hill AFB, I managed the Emergency Medical Response program for the entire base, which included all emergency medical personnel in the Medical Group and the Fire Department, as well as a few outlying facilities. I conducted all refresher classes for over 50 EMTs on a bi-annual basis. Finally, I hold a Bachelor’s of Science in Clinical Psychology, which allows for positive inter-personal communication with each and every one of my customers.
A couple of years ago, I heard about a child in my neighborhood that almost lost his life after a near-drowning in the local pool. I was told that none of the parents who were present knew CPR or any kind of life-saving measures. I was asked to teach a neighborhood CPR class, and from there the idea of Premier Medical Response was born. I am comfortable in my knowledge that I have what it takes to save a person’s life, and I want nothing more than to pass my skills and knowledge on to those around me. Whether it’s a local clinic or Boy Scout troop that needs CPR training, a school or workplace that want Mass Casualty Care training in the event of a violent incident, or a group of friends wanting to go through a First Aid class together; whatever your needs are, I am here for you. Let me come to you with my equipment, skills, and knowledge, and I promise to teach you how to take care of yourself and each other in a time of need.
