I used this place frequently before they shut down for renovations. They switch managers fairly often but everyone was pretty nice. The spaces were really close together and the bathrooms weren't always the best kempt. There is no direct paths to the park which is a little sad; I hope they develop some in the new plan.Service: 4/5
The camp pads are spacious and overall flat. My site was very secluded. The bathhouse was small but clean and well kept. The park is large with lots of trails to hike.Location: 5/5
The staff is always friendly and professional. They have a great pool, that’s why I keep coming back. Never to crowed. I jus wish it would stay open later than 7….how about dark. Especially if your swimming at your own risk anyway. A lot of people don’t get back to there camper until 7 or 8pm. But over all it’s the best for the price!!!
The staff was very nice and helpful. The only issue is the bathrooms were not being cleaned. We were there a week from Sunday to Saturday and it was not cleaned. The park was nice, shady but a little tight for a larger trailer.
The campsites were kind of small and the site we were in was not level at all. I think we just had a bad spot, though, because other sites looked much nicer. The roads were paved, which was great for the kids riding bikes and scooters. They also had a very nice playground. We will probably come back, but request a different site.
*Edit - Nice office lady asked what type of dog we had but stated they do not have breed restrictions. Wanted to add b/c someone could be ruining business based on a review below. We stayed one night in C8 with a 26 ft RV and toad. We had hoped we wouldn't have to disconnect but knew the site was 36 ft long pull through and it was a possibility. We were plesantly surprised that we fit BUT our hose couldn't reach the water so we had to disconnect anyhow.. oh well note to self get longer hose. This space is directly across from a lovely pool which we used and enjoyed very much in this heat/humidity. Row C is a little hill but the site seemed pretty level at least our front tires aren't off the ground when the auto levelers did their job. The sites are close together but nice w/ a little grass between and a brand new picnic table and fire ring. Lots of woods on the front and back roads between each road w/ the other campers so really you are near your direct neighbor not everyone. Since the woods seperates the rows of campers some sites don't have a lot of shade. It is 8am and this site is shaded at the moment, we are facing east and it is early. If you have more than one car or visitors parking maybe an issue but it is fathers day weekend which is making it busier. I did notice that the larger class A were parked a few rows away, we had a lot of TT's in our row. The wifi worked fine for us with our winegard extender no issues. Water pressure seemed a little low but we think it is our filter not the site but something to keep in mind. The price was good at $42ish can't recall exact amount for water/electric on short notice in summer. They have 2 dump stations at the entrance/exit that is free to guests making it easy on our departure today. The office staff lady was super friendly and answered all our questions. All in all I would come back if the need arose.
Nice little campground close to DC. We recently stayed at this campground while participating in a fishing tournament that launched from Leesylvania State Park which was only about a 15 min drive away. Unlimited number of restaurants within a short drive away. Located just a couple miles off I-95. Marjorie was the first person I talked to when making the reservation over the phone and she was very friendly and accommodating. The campground was clean, including the showers and restrooms. All of the camp sites appeared to be paved. I don’t think this park has cable tv. We did need blocks to level out the camper, but not a big deal. This park is scheduled to be closed at the end of 2022 thru June 2023 for renovation. This was our first visit and we look forward to returning next year after being fully renovated.
In terms of space, it was about average for a private campground, maybe slightly better. We had a full hookup site and the utilities seemed well-maintained. Actually, although the roads are getting old in spots, everything seemed well-maintained though I didn't use the restrooms there. Others have mentioned how friendly the staff is and that was true for us, as well. The dog area was nice and our dog had fun there. I'd come again without hesitation, particularly if I needed a full hookup site.
I'm not a current, or previous, camper here, but...c'mon. a bad review, here or there, maybe just difficult customers... But, geez. THE OVERWHELMING bad reviews, about the disrespectful, nasty, rude, incompetent, ignorant, and belligerent office staff/Workers/ Owners... They seem like they should not be allowed to remain open, and maybe they need to be reported to Good Sam, and have their endorsement pulled... Additionally, maybe, since they appear to be simply exploiting what the " could" charge, when offering terrible wifi, and whatever else is going on there, and they are NOT INVESTING any of that back into improvements, upgrades or amenities, they should be BOYCOTTED, UNTIL THEY ARE RUN OUT OF BUSINESS... BUSINESSES LIKE THIS, RUN BY PEOPLE LIKE THIS, ARE GREEDY, INEPT, AND LIW CLASS.
The staff are truly the friendliest we’ve encountered. Note: If you’re assigned “F” row be advised that the sites are not level. We tried every which way truck w/slide in camper to no avail and ended up walking to office requesting another site with no problem. Although in the 20 minutes we were doing the switch someone decided they needed our folding chairs more than we did. Thankful we locked everything else up. Other than that the park is clean and quiet. Price was a little higher than we’re used to especially with the pool and men’s facilities under renovation closed.
