In the education system today we always associate good students with good grades without identifying the root cause as to why they perform so well. Some students have a natural gift to do well in school, and others have very good teachers who are easy to understand and passionate about their job. There are other students who are self-motivators, and they learn to teach themselves when a teacher is not able to explain or demonstrate concepts well. There is a large part of the student population has teachers who are tenured, and may have lost the motivation and passion for teaching. These highly capable students are at an unfair advantage because they have the motivation and drive to learn but need a capable teacher to help them along.
Passing on critical skills and knowledge to today’s youth is imperative for our children to be successful when they graduate from high school and college. Critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal relationships start developing at a very young age in the classroom by students working together with guidance from teachers. For example, reading, writing, basic math, and reasoning are some of the basic skills which need to have a solid foundation from a young age in order to excel in high school and college. These skills are also important for preparing for the SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT and other college preparatory entrance exams. Doing well on these entrance tests aids students in attending the college of their choice.
