Progressive Maryland fights income inequality and builds power for working families.

Description

Through research, public education, and direct political action we strive to improve the lives of working families in our state. PM is the Maryland coordinating partner of both Health Care for America Now! and US Action, which unites 34 affiliates in 24 states to build power for a more just and progressive America.

PM has successfully led the fight for living wage laws in Montgomery County, Prince George's County and statewide in Maryland. It has led the statewide fight to raise the minimum wage, close corporate tax loopholes and for a progressive tax system. It supports collective bargaining, living wage jobs and civil rights issues and is currently a partner in the campaign for civil marriage equality in the state.

I was able to get a better deal for basically the same auto coverage than my previous provider, which we won't name... that rhymes with "psycho".
This company is one of the worst insurance company in the area. Don’t be tricked into their competitive starting price. That is one of their biggest lies. They hide tons of discounts in the first quote and if you want to continue with them all if the discounts are gone. So don’t be surprised if your rate goes up by 130$ or so when you want to continue with them. Another lies is that they offer the discounts to newcomers, although I had history with them. When I called the representative and asked for the reason why my price went up, she gave another lies that the rate was gone JUST because the discounts are gone, although I had a letter explicitly saying the rate was gone at least partially because of roadside assistance I used ONCE for jumper start. So don’t get pricked by their numbers as they lie often to force the price. Probably going to switch to Geico very soon, as they don’t have all these hidden fees.
Just picked up my vehicle from repair after it was damaged by someone insured by Progressive. I was nervous to take it there rather than a dealership, but couldn't be more pleased with the service. Drop-off was seamless even though they were very busy. Picked up my rental which was new and clean. Took 3 days to repair the car and scheduled my pick-up the next morning after they called and said it was ready. The repairs to my rear bumper and trunk were seamless - looked brand new. Additionally they did a quick detail on the car and left me a gas card which covered the gas I had used in 3 days! Excellent service.
Some reps are great to deal with & very helpful, while some don't do anything unless & until you call and push them along. One claims rep showed incredible bias against me by believing everything the other driver said & faulting me, even though that driver had left the scene of the accident without exchanging any insurance info. I cancelled roadside service after that - i was stuck on an aerial on-ramp to Route 50E, scared to get out of the car right away because of the fast-moving traffic, and my car's battery died while i was waiting for help. The Progressive roadside assistant rep couldn't even locate my position on the map. She tried calling for help on my behalf & ended up connecting me to the county public works department!
I was impressed with the fact that everyone was so nice. Even though I myself don't have progressive insurance, I still did not get the feeling that one gets when an insurance company tries to play the blame game. They inspected my car, gave me a rental, and sent me on my way. I will be getting a quote from them when my insurance is up for renewal.
I've unfortunately had to utilize service here. Unfortunately because I had been involved in accidents. I know Progressive had since changed repair processes ... but before the change, the process was hands down the best and most customer friendly of any insurer I know of. The staff was efficient and professional, and had a rental car ready before I even showed up.
