Multi-disciplinary pilot project at the campus of Rust College set out to Revisit, Research and Reinvent the way food is produced in an ever-hungry world.
In a world spinning faster than ever before, it is no secret that the need for more food has been on the rise. However, with 7 billion hungry mouths to feed and 2 more expected in the next three or so decades, demand for more land for purposes both in and out of the agricultural sector, freshwater reserves on the decline, havoc from the effects of climate change and the whole nine yards… it has become clearer that the conventional methods of farming will not sustain a hungry world. Therefore, with recent studies pointing us towards new forms of farming such as Hydroponics, Aquaponics, Aeroponics, Vertical Farming and so on, we decided to jump right into this new exciting world of the new wave of agriculture so that we can do our part to not only assist in the fight against Hunger, but also do the best we can to help save our Planet. This is Project EverGreen.
