It is our hope that we continue to build bridges of love and support as we develop interested and loving foster care families. The agency is designed to accept boys and girls between he ages of 0-17. The children are thoroughly screened to determine appropriateness for placement in a Certified Foster Family Home through a review of educational, social, psychological, and psychiatric records. As a foster parent with Proteus, parents receive ongoing monthly training in a warm friendly environment. The training sessions cover variety of topics related to parenting such as: child development, parenting skills, record keeping, licensing and placement regulations. Foster parents receive a wealth of supportive services to encourage them in the challenges of foster care parenting. Twenty-four hour on call support is also available to make your foster care experience positive and fulfilling for the parents and the child. Foster parents are also given monthly financial support based upon the age of the child (up to $830 per child.)
