The Providence Fire Department was organized in 1901 and protects 6.2 square miles within the city limits of Providence, Kentucky, in addition to outlying areas within Webster County.
The City of Providence was incorporated in 1860 and is currently home to 3,600 people located in the southwestern part of the county, east of the Tradewater River. Providence is approximately 17 miles northwest of Madisonville, Kentucky.
