Fantastic roast beef and pastrami, and great homemade chips. The other options looked great and I can’t wait to go back and try. So excited this is in Providence now!
Absolutely love this place. Intimate atmosphere with comfortable seating, its a great place to hang out and explore the excellent wine selection. We each got a wine flight and we’re able to try over half of their wine list. The food is excellent as well. We had their cheese and meat board, the gnocchi, and the roasted sweet potato. The server was knowledgeable about their wine selection and personable with the diners. Overall, it was an excellent experience and we will definitely be back!
Love this place! If I lived nearer, I would be here every week. Very chill and sultry vibe, neighborhood feel, terrific wine list and recommendations from knowledgeable and attentive staff. The food is surprisingly delicious as well. Nice assortment of delectable treats! Nice for dinner for two or a small gathering!
Terrible. Wasn’t busy. Seated for 20 min and no one bothered to take our order.
Great place in Wayland Square to get a light dinner and drink. No hard alcohol drinks are served, but the beer and wine selection is more than adequate. Local live entertainment on Fridays. Menu items are prepared by the Salted Slate restaurant which is just around the corner on Wayland Ave.
One of my favorite places inside and out!!! Great wine and food selection!
It was a cold day in Providence when I had a bowl of their tasty Matzo Ball soup and a Hot Pastrami on Rye. Sitting at the window counter watching the traffic roll through Wayland Square, this was a nice spot. The soup was hot and tasty, and the Pastrami was overflowing the sandwich forcing me to pick up scraps with my fingers. Worth it and I'll be back for more!
The owner is a sheer delight. I’m not a wine aficionado by anyone’s standard, I’ve never really thought I liked it...but he was able to ask me just a few questions and come back with a glass of wine that landed perfectly on my palette. I was amazed. He told me to remember this when choosing my wine: I don’t like tannin in wine, look for low acidity. He may have deep and wide knowledge of all things wine necessary for running his business—or he’s a superhero keeping a low profile. Thanks Wineman, you saved wine for me.
Changing my review up as it was for Mercer's deli which closed to become the wine bar. Great wines. Nice menu with suggestions for trying wines. My boyfriend was surprised and disappointed there wasn't a cheese plate / charcuterie board to go with the wine. The bartender told us that the Salted Slate around the corner and owned by the same person offered the cheese/charcuterie and the owner didn't want his businesses to compete against each other. This is nonsense to your customers. We just want cheese and charcuterie to go with the wines we try. It's actually more sales for you if you offer it at both restaurants.
Susanna is the best. She knows her wine for any recommendation you may need and can discuss great literature and novels for days. You have a very warm and welcoming employee.
