Ps 115 Glen Oaks

My child loves this school. We first have doubt about traveling this far for their GT program. The teachers are responsible and responsive. When you have a question, they go out of their way to meet you early in the morning. Otherwise, school has a designated parents meeting day on Every Tuesday. Homework reflects its rigorous academic standards. Children are not given homework that they haven't already learned in school. My child is now in second grade and already able to write essay/report following the outline given by the teachers. This generally very hard especially if the teachers are only giving out the work without following it through in class, make sure children understand and practice it often in-class. So far, our favorite teachers are 1st Grade GT teacher, Ms. DeCanio, 2nd Grade GT Teacher Ms. Glash, 4th Grade GT teacher Ms. Bethel, and 5th Grade GT Teacher Ms. Simms. Our children haven't gotten the third grade teachers yet, will update. However, the school isn't lacking in enrichment such as Library/Media, Gym, Art, Music and Drama. Every afternoon, my children will get one of the following as part of the daily schedule. Totally love this school.

Not only does this school have great staff but on top of that it has a great community of disciplined students.

The Staff is very helpful, supportive and friendly, and most importantly my daughter loves the school.

I went to this school back in 1966 just for the six grade, then I went to HILLSIDE JUNIOR HIGH, J.H.S. 172Q.

Was 5 stars until the Ms.Laporte came I was a student now in ms172
