If you are a student, you need to spend some free time here if you like sports and activities. Everything is here. You have Volleyball, Badminton, Basketball, Rock Climbing, Bouldering, Pickleball, Ping Pong, Walleyball, Raquetball…the list goes on. They also have a cardio zone, a fancy gym, a running track, and a lot more! Customer service is great, and I’d definitely recommend going here as well as getting involved in some IM sports with friends if you have time outside of academics!
Makes for great way to socialize and meet new people. I there’s it a lot to do, ever sport is available and if your more interested in exercising you can just exercise there. What is shocking though is the size. No it is ridiculous how big this place is. Looking at the building from the outside the. Walking inside is a big difference.
Here's a tip for if anyone wants to go to the gym when it's not crowded. I know you'll have to get up early, but be there by 6 am. In the fall, it gets crowded at around 7:30ish or 8. In the summer though, it's not the crowded. I still wake up early though to get my workout in.The place is nice and has a wide range of workouts. It's also nice because I haven't experienced being judged here.
Intramural or IM Building is a one stop sporting facilities for Penn State University's students, faculties and staffs. There are a lot of sport facilities such as fitness center, basketball court, volley ball, raqouetball, soccer, wall climbing, hockey field, jogging track and many more. It's all free! Moreover, the staffs here are helpful !
Equipment is actually decent. However, if you plan to go anytime between 9 am and 9 pm you’re not going to get a workout in. It’s completely overcrowded as every freshman on campus is trying to lift at the same time. If you can afford an off campus gym I suggest you do it.
Gym is too small and way too crowded. And, most importantly, they aren’t open long enough. After that, it’s a nice gym and i enjoy working out at the other locations.
It’s a great gym but it’s usually very crowded, it closes early and parking sucks. Also, the hours are totally shorted during summer and even though the parking spots are empty, you can’t park there—not as a student, resident or even employee. The spots just sit empty… so you have to past hourly rates in the garage three or four blocks away.
Quite a cool place to do indoor games and of course grab a cup of coffee.
Amazing facility for recreational activities. A huge building with 9 badminton courts, 4 squash/raquetball courts, gyms, basketball courts and many more. A must visit place for athletes and sports lovers!
do NOT go here if you are taking the gym seriously, competing, or a powerlifter. The gym is extremely small and crowded no matter what time you go. The only nice thing about this gym is they have a lot of power racks so you aren’t waiting for a bar to squat or deadlift. But, the free weight section is AWFUL. If you’ve been lifting for awhile and don’t want to wait 40+ minutes for one machine. Go somewhere else
