The Public Health Science degree provides students interested in careers in health professions with interdisciplinary training that is essential to recognizing and addressing public health issues at the state, national and global levels.
The Public Health Science program includes a strong curriculum in science and public health courses, such as biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health, and global health. Students will have the opportunity for individual exploration in public health through electives, laboratory experiences, optional internships, and a culminating interdisciplinary capstone course. This degree will enable students entering allied health professions, as well as medicine, dentistry, nursing, and pharmacy to address the growing health challenges facing global communities today. The degree can be obtained on the campus at College Park or at the Universities at Shady Grove.
