The store is nicely stocked, with products of quality. However this review is directly critical of the meat handling in the deli/sandwich department. I had "Casino" make me a wrap and I noted multiple times where they touched their clothing and at times their face with the sandwich making glove. They went as far as appearing to wash their hand without replacing said glove. That just was off putting, I get you don't need to change your gloves for hours when working in the deli but it made me wonder if Publix had workers cross containming food as they also work with hot meat products in the production of sandwiches. I had to pass on buying the wrap. I opted for a half chicken leg that Lyn helped me get instead. My cashier Beverly was quick and efficient in checking me out, I won't be back but that's because I am a tourist.
They are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend them. By the way, they have a great little to-go luncheon section. I have gotten their chicken, mashed potatoes and carrots, plus roll. It is absolutely delicious and you can’t cook at home for their prices. Try it!!
I am in complete shock of the management at the Gulf Cove Publix. I’ve witnessed a friend be reprimanded in front of me TWICE for simply having maybe a 10 minute conversation. I understand staff is there to work, but if an employees time is so valuable they can’t have a brief conversation with a customer I think they should be compensated accordingly. This is exactly why business have a hard time keeping employees, treat people with the same respect you'd like to be treated with. Not to mention it completely ruined my shopping experience. Honestly I’m thinking about all the small conversations I’ve had with staff and hoping they didn’t get the same treatment.
If you've ever been to the south east US, you have almost definitely been aware of a grocery store chain known as Publix. "Where shopping is a pleasure". And it usually is; the stores are well organized enough, the quality of their produce is better than decent* and they make almost the BEST sub in town. My main issue, is they have noticibly higher prices than just about anywhere except maybe whole foods. I find it hard to rationalize paying more for the exact same item that I can get for half the price at Winn Dixie or Walmart. * My fiancee and myself got some kind of food bourne illness from the fresh fruit at Publix. HORRIBLE symptoms that I won't even get into here as some may find it disturbing.
Has everything you need. They also hire minors starting from age 14 so it's a perfect opportunity. One thing I don't like is the sushi. Don't get me wrong they taste great but they keep falling apart and turns into a sushi salad
First of all I do not live in Florida so Publix is always on my must list of places to eat from while I'm here. I know that is random , but trust me its awesome. They make the best subs!!! I love that you can order your subs ahead of time online, which is very convenient. The sushi is also really good and so are the deserts! I love this particular Publix because of the employees! They are so sweet and helpful.
very clean, well laid out store. We love shopping at Publix when we are in FL. They carry new to us products that are high quality. Great produce and fruit selection, the subs and salads are great, and the bakery...Key Lime Pie. Delicious!
Great service! Great selection of products. Stay away from the bakery! - cuz you would want to buy all their yummy baked goods! :D
Easy to park very close to the store on a Monday evening. Huge selection of products. Very nice bakery and appreciated the calories shown for each cake. Some fairly good offers BOGO. Soda machine available with three different sizes of cups. Three different soups also available each day in three different size cups, but expensive at 4 Dollars for the smallest size. Cooked Chicken was pricey as well.
This has been my main Publix for over a decade now! Always treated with kindness, great store great employees great management!
