Great place to go hiking and have a picnic. Is a place that is a little run down. The wooden picnic tables are brand newish. The trails are above average. Lots of nature to see. Seems like a campground however can only be used for day use. Located near Beulah Co. Outhouses are special woman and men not connected but in same area. Kind of a secret place with less foot traffic compared to other places. Monday movers are in effect, where driving is only allowed In part of the park. Great place for horse and bike ridding. Restrooms: Restrooms have no doors. Paper is present. Very clean compared to other facilities. No running water. Dog-friendliness: Dogs need to be leashed and cleaned up after just like any other park. Picnic area: Scenic views make picnic area ideal. Bear proof trashcan. Tables are like new and are wood and metal. Not tied down can be moved. Spots usually have fire pits and charcoal grills. Bring own charcoal and cooking items. Very clean.
Took a 5th-grade overnighter here and was great. They got to go on hikes and do some bonding. If I heard right, it's like a bed and breakfast also. The area we stayed in had bunk rooms for the boys and for the girls. There are other rooms for adults that just want to come up and stay there. The food was great and all the staff from who all work there to the guides who gave the tours also the person who brought the birds of prey to show the students and to all the park rangers on and off site who checked on us and made sure we were safe. There was an area for weddings to retreats or maybe to just get away from the city life. This place was very peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely just go up with my family and enjoy nature.
First, let me just express how magnificent it is in Beulah. It just feels like it is gorgeous no matter when you visit...There is a lot here... little park for the kiddos, BBQ and picnic areas, a little pond to go sit by, and bathrooms are throughout the park... we started by walking through the archery range, and noticed we were being watched. There are deer everywhere... There is a map on the trail to the trails. Hiked up pretty high, had to sit for a bit to calm down the anxiety. Found an easy way down, just slid down the steep hill, found an antler will be back for sure
Fun day hike. The scenic drive was a lot of fun.
The drive to simply get here was beautiful, there are plenty of trails for you to choose from here. It’s dog friendly and I liked that it wasn’t super busy considering I came on a Saturday. So I was able to enjoy hiking without the disturbance of other people. Really great views when you get to the tops of the mountains.
The visitor center and interpretive materials need some love. Trail signs were a little confusing but trails seem well maintained. Staff gave us a map and were friendly but weren't able to point out where the visitor center was in the map. In her defense, it wasn't labeled either.
Gorgeous!! The only problem is that the signs were not marked real well on some of the trails.
Great spot for hiking and avid nature goers. We just moved to Pueblo and don’t know the area, and found this mountain park. We first checked out the Devils Canyon Trail, and from there each time we go back we next try the trail that’s a bit longer/tougher than the last. Still haven’t completed all of them; it’s a place you want to return to! We’ve brought our dog each time. No day pass or entry fee required. Scenic drive. We have barely seen *anyone* the 3-4 times we’ve hiked there, which is marvelous. Check it out : Dog-friendliness: Keep them on leash if possible but friendly to any pets that have common sense on the trails and in nature. Picnic area: Picnic tables and appropriate trash bins scattered throughout the park
It was beautiful!! We took the Northridge trail to the Devil's Canyon trail and back. Basically climbed up and mountain and back down and around. Some parts of the trail were fairly rough, but I guess that's part of the experience. Took us about 2.5 hours.
Just a gorgeous place to spend the day! I always have a lovely time, the trails are easy and peaceful, and there are plenty of restrooms. Highly recommended place to go when you need some greenery in your life!
