Beautiful architecture and generally a nice place to lounge about or take a break while making your way down Cañada. There's a little drinking fountain at the entrance that you can refill bottles / drink at. Parking is decently plentiful, though be warned that cars won't have access to it on Sundays except during holidays.
Nice beautiful park kind area with a monument and a pool at front. I guess TEMPLE, is a little too much for this place if you already visited any temples in India, south eastern Asia or even in Europe , by the way parking is closed apparently on weekends, and the front street parked cars strictly enforced. I saw People coming there to take wedding ceremony pics
Canada Road is closed on weekends so you need to plan how to get there. 1 there is a bike parking lot two miles north, get there early for a spot, then walk along Canada Road or hike along the trail 2 ride share or get dropped off at the south entrance one mile south of the gates to the Filoli gardens, then walk along Canada Road. If you arrive before 10/11, then you will avoid most of the crowds. Follow the gravel path after the double gates and pass the drinking fountain to get to the simple yet beautiful temple. South of the rectangular pool surrounded by cypress trees is a circular concrete stage. North is a tholos dome, circular Greek temple with a well at the center gated so no one can jump/fall in. Perfect place for photos, with friends or for engagements! I recommend using portrait mode and stand a little closer than you think.
The Pulgas Water Temple monument is a nice way to spend 10 minutes near I-280/ CA-92. There is free 30 minute parking here which is always a plus, and the grounds have nice grass lawns and a huge tall structure that was built in 1938.
Hidden gem that's definitely worth stopping at. A quiet place to relax and enjoy a breather, have a picnic, or just hang out. Beautiful architecture with an interesting history.
Lovely place, architecture looks so roman ! Great place to spend 30/40 mins. Small nifty parking open only on weekday, pedestrian access on weekends
Beautiful place with very little traffic. Super interesting to learn about the water system that provides drinking water for the whole Bay Area. On Sundays the road is closed for cars. It makes for a nice walk!
The absolute best place for a wedding photo shoot! We did a very beautiful one here with a fantastic photographer and videographer on the day of our wedding. It was hands-down the best place to have a wedding photo shoot with the bridal party and just the couple. Not only is it free, but it’s absolutely stunning and gorgeous. You just have to organize rides, as there is no parking currently due to Covid. It might change soon now that everyone is vaccinated, but currently it’s still closed for parking only. You can walk in and it’s 100% fine.
The temple itself is a pleasant place to be, but if you’re going there on the weekend, the parking lot is closed. Do not park along the road as a bunch of cops know where to go to issue tickets. You can only park about a mile away from the entrance.
It's a very peaceful place. You can bring your picnic basket don't forget your wine sit down and enjoy the peace!!!
