A Parent Participation School
Palos Verdes Hills Nursery School is a parent participation school founded in 1953 and established at its present site in 1958. This unique cooperative institution is owned and administered by participating parents who desire greater involvement in their children’s first school experience. Our school is based on the idea that the best education for a child is the active partnership of parents, teachers and children.
PV Hills is a nonprofit corporation and is governed by the general membership through an elected parent-run Board of Directors. The school is supported by tax-deductible donations from the Palos Verdes Peninsula Directory and PVLifeToday.com. These donations support the educational activities for our students.
The first five years of a child’s life are important! It is critical for parents to take an active role to ensure a lifelong thirst for learning.
At Palos Verdes Hills Nursery School:

A relaxed, non-competitive and loving atmosphere is an important part of our curriculum.” Individual differences are recognized and each child is helped to progress at his or her own rate in all areas of development. We maintain at least a 4 to 1 child to adult ratio to ensure the safety of children and to establish a one-to-one relationship as often as possible.
