I had high expectations for Quality Dairy Store, but unfortunately, it fell far short. It lacked creativity and innovation, offering nothing that would make me want to return.
Just this morning, went to get something and decided to get my husband alcohol,I don’t understand you people don’t accept foreigners passports to buy alcohol, and my passport has my date of birth and this white woman trying to pretend not to see or understand the date of birth on my passport, she was being rude and being racist, and saying that you have no policy of accepting any other nationality id expect US citizens, I’m very disappointed with QD service and some of the workers.
Last time I will using this location for purchases. Came here a week ago and one of the CSR ladies was extremely unprofessional when asking why something purchased was not covered on EBT, she decided to make the comment to her manager "I guess they just don't have money to pay for the stuff they're getting". Tried going again today and specifically asked to have someone else help with our purchase, and the Manager got an attitude and accused us of not wanting her to help because of her race. Ignored that when she asked "why can't SHE help you" she was informed that previously she had been unprofessional and rude. I will no longer use this location because of the unprofessional behavior of Joanie manager and the CSR didn't get her name as she walked away. Very disappointing.
Service is friendly and quick. Stocked with a lot of variety. My daughter and wife believe the cherry ice cream is the best around and my son likes the Mackinac island fudge ice cream.
There was an older lady at the ice cream area and she was super unfriendly. She looked me and decided that the health department won’t allow them to give out samples of icecream. It’s a real same that just because I’m not white she chose to say that. I have a friend who works for the health department of MI and another who works for the FDA. I know she was lying. Super disappointing to see such a shameful act in Okemos. Hope the owners are aware and willing to fix it.
This is a great QD. The donuts are yummy but the selection hasn't been great of late. I suspect it's the pandemic so I am not upset by it. The snicker doodle cookies are my favorite and if we get ice cream I go for pistachio, which had chocolate covered bits. It is also a good quick spot for coffee.
Location: East Grand River & Dobie Rd. Visit this and other stores regularly. Have been customer for many yrs. Service is normally fast, friendly, and helpful. They carry a variety stnd convenience store items. From milk, bread, donuts, prepackaged sandwiches, aspirin, to a quart of motor oil. All of the stores around metro Lansing seem similarly well run. The donuts are good. Coffee good. Ice cream by scoop or prepackaged is good. There is sometimes a variation in how much you get in scooped ice cream. Most clerks seem to roughly guesstimated by experience and looking. Some, notably recent newer clerks, have been very stingy. They are not very customer friendly. Cutting the dish/cone short by maybe a half scoop. It's a small thing. But general bad form. And, if you're looking for booze or lottery tickets; they've got 'em. UpDate: March '22. Dropped in for ice cream. They have a number of new employees. Got a good one. Prompt friendly service. Guy gave me a good portion. He asked abt my QD card. In recent yrs, many clerks don't ask. You get money off points, and free ice cream after some number of purchases; maybe 7 or 10. They are still closing early. Not certain; think abt 10pm. Laundry closes earlier.
On two separate occasions now, the items we bought were freezer burnt. 2 pints of ice cream on one visit and some push pops on another. They clearly don't rotate products in the freezer. I threw on a 2nd star because my son likes the donuts.
Nice hometown convenience store that's been around here for like a 100 years. They have their own bakery & dairy in town so all the doughnuts, milk and ice cream is made fresh right here. Good first job for a kid, it was mine. Go give em a try.
Blessings to all I am leaving this review for James every time I come to this location he gives superior guest service and I greatly appreciate him. Keep it James we need more cashier's like you.
