We offer a full line of contemporary quilting fabrics and supplies, as well as an array of quality hand knitting yarns, notions, books and patterns, along with basketry supplies.

We offer classes year round in quilting, knitting and basketmaking. We have been in business since 1994. Quiltessentials was named one of the top 10 quilt shops by Better Homes and Gardens in the Fall/Winter, 2015 issue of Quilt Sampler magazine.

Renewing my interest in knitting. A friend took me to Quiltessentials. Good selection of yarn and very helpful staff. Was thrilled when they offered to wind my wool into workable balls. Such a time saver. Would have liked to see more patterns and books, but I understand that space is limited and you are able to find many patterns on line for little or no cost. Over all, a great little shop and I look forward to my next visit.
I was here for the Hop into the Holidays shop hop. They had gone the extra mile with a detailed demo during our visit. They have a great selection of fabric and yarn. Love the store!
I love this little fabric shop. They have an amazing variety of fun fabrics, and their staff is not only knowledgeable, but friendly. The prices are on the higher side for the area, however, it IS quality fabric. For this, I'm willing to spend the extra.
My favorite quilt store in Maine. There are several others I love almost as much but I love Quiltessentials the most. Email newsletters are to the point, well designed, tell me what I want to know, and inspiring. And the store is lovely with a wide variety of fabrics and ideas--small, medium, and large--as well as yarn similarly inspiring, says my friend Andrea. I took Betsy's machine quilting class and have been practicing ever since. This is a store where a personal passion for quilting is well balanced with the business, without one being soured or overwhelmed by the other. I am listened to and helped with my projects, but never judged. And that makes the drive for me always worthwhile. Michele
Betsy and her staff are wonderful. Even though she is in Maine and I in Vermont, she has helped me through everything from tuffets to pillowcases and a few things in between. Best fabric selection I have found.
Friendly and helpful staff. The owner is awesome. Fun and varied classes. Wide variety of fabrics and yarns.
Beautiful store, tgey have lovely yarn and great quilting fabrics. The prices are a bit steep but on this case you get what you pay for.

If you want to make a quilt...they have you covered! So much to choose from...super friendly and helpful staff...one of my favorite fabric stores!
